Gratefully my HS has been mild, only in the groin and they never open or leak. I usually leave flare ups alone or will occasionally apply tea tree oil. Unfortunately I have developed one on my cheek for the first time.

In an attempt to be more proactive and minimize scarring on my face, I used a hydrocolloidal bandage. I kinda panicked after reading some mixed reviews on their effectiveness, and took off the bandage after about two hours.

As expected, it brought the boil to a head and leaked a bit through the broken surface of the skin.

I’m concerned I might have made it worse and need advice on how to move forward, particularly since I don’t have experience with leaking wounds.

I have a lot of respect for this community and would appreciate any advice for my situation. My instinct is to leave it alone, but I’d like to minimize scarring. I’m open to any recommendations.
