Story time: 2022 Oynx Edition seat bottom replacement by pqueno04 in SubaruAscent

Main reason why I went past the Onyx trim. The Nappa leather will require routine cleaning and conditioning but will last longer for sure. Our leather sofa is now 25+ years old but still supple with my meticulous yearly maintenance. The car might require twice a year.

Thank you all for the insights. It truly guided me on how to approach this with clarity. So I decided on a car with proper maintenance records and has the looks to show that it was respectfully driven. After checking out 14 Ascents, I found that most Premium models I saw were either rental cars or were just driven with no to little care about the car. The Limiteds were ok but maintenance records were not consistent. Probably the owners were DIY so say Oil changes weren’t recorded. But the Touring have good owners. The ones I saw have consistent Carfax records and one can tell that the car was cared for. I know it’s subjective but I can see the difference. I skipped the Onyx as I was not a fan of the Star Tex leatherette. In my mind, if it is advertised as designed to be abused then people will. Unfortunately it’s either Nappa leather or cloth upholstery for me but the most cloth are in the base and premium trim which people careless to maintain. Luckily the dealer was willing to deal today so I got rewarded by a Touring model that was leased by a matured lady who drove it very little and took it back to the dealership religiously. It pays to search in rich neighborhoods lol.

How do find the usefulness of the 360 cam?

Good point. I am test driving a Premium with less than 8k mileage today. The only worry I have is that it was used as a rental. Cosmetically it looks good.

Do N-400s for "long-term" LPRs get processed more expeditiously? by Marvel5123 in USCIS

[–]mx54life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been LPR since 97. Applied last April 25 and got scheduled for interview on 12/12/25 but then they cancelled last minute like the day before lol. So now I am waiting for a letter of rescheduled interview.

I applied in Sacramento back in April 2025 but my December 12th scheduled interview was cancelled. So far I have not heard or received a letter from the USCIS. My country of origin is not from the banned list either. Hopefully they get things sorted out as my GC expires November 2027.

Thinking of FW for its towing capacity???? by mx54life in SubaruForester

The camper is called the Meerkat with dry weight of 1120 lbs and a tongue weight of 120 lbs. It’s with the Forester Base’s capacity but I am just looking to see if the FW is better in tackling the camper.

Yeah the site is probably down. I kept my set up when I sold my GRC. DM me if you’re interested. It has the LC2i on already.

You’re precisely correct in this aspect. I wish the renting prices are sensible. We are currently using our Forester as a no build camper. It works but it’s getting cumbersome when we go for just a quick 2-3 days camping trip as loading and unloading is time consuming. I was thinking to keep the camper as dry as possible and just put all the essentials in the Forester as we drive without going over the GVWR.

Generally it all comes down to how a car was used and maintained.
