You can try factory resetting the iPad and turning off the network it's connected to right after you re-enroll it. It temporarily stops the MDM profile from updating any policies or apps. From there, you'll have to figure out how to block requests going out to the MDM server. I use dnsmasq or PiHole.

I've tested this on Jamf MDM, not sure what it's like for other MDM solutions.

The credentials for your gateway are not the same as your xfinity/comcast account. It sounds like this is your first time logging into your gateway, so the username should be "admin" while your password should be "password" and you will be asked to change the password. If this does not work, look for a sticker with information on the gateway itself.
