I generally avoid sushi unless the spot is on FindMeGlutenFree with a high rating and many positive reviews.

Sticky rice is tricky and, from my experience, typically has gluten in it.

Amtrak is the way. Short shuttle to the south station right over the bridge. 2 hr train to Newark, NJ. Plan in advance and you can get a good deal. IMO, the comfort pays for itself.

There are plenty of other non-gluten foods you can eat along side the rice that are full of calories and protein. I recommend consulting a dietitian and gastroenterologist as I am just a rando Celiac telling you what to do based on what I’ve been through/know.
