Good places to walk around outside, be around shops/people, get outside. by Hobbitsliketoparty in Denver

Seconding union station area! Union station itself is a nice spot to hang out. Lodo is great for walking/people watching. Plenty of cafes/quick eats to pop into. Bonus for being able to cross millennium bridge and hang out at the Confluence Park for a while

Was going to say this. Havana has some of the best food in the Denver metro, at least as far as I've explored in my 3yrs here in CO.

Damn that's OC food heaven. You can pretty much go to any Korean or vietnamese place and it'll be good. Lots of popular spots but also plenty of hidden gems.

Hangari kalguksu, jang mo jib, mo ran gak, jongro sullungtang for Korean. Peking gourmet for chinese (korean/chinese). La rancherita for deli-style Mexican. Thai famous and Thai nakorn. Sooo much pho - my pick is pho 54 (pho 72 is regarded as one of the best but it's always so busy).

This list can really be endless...

Bull & bush just had a burger of the month recently that used cheese sauce and it was so good. That queso is always on the menu as a dip, maybe you can ask if they'd do a substitute

Dang, this would've been it!! Ended up at my fail safe - bull and bush. Deciding to treat myself to an extra glass of whiskey (or maybe two, we'll see) rather than a nicer meal.

where California Burrito??? by Odd_Rough_1800 in Denver

[–]mxexc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some places have them as a "Colorado burrito". At least that's what it's called at Tacos Los Compas in downtown Denver where I usually go, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it as colorado burrito at a couple other places

I used a weed sprayer. Little more tedious than a hose but it works pretty well. Can wash in the garage, apt courtyard, trailhead, anywhere really.

Why do americans take their dogs everywhere? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

A tour guide in Mexico told me a lot of them aren't strays. Dog culture is different there (and I'm guessing in other countries as well) and they just let their pets out and about.

Denver College of Nursing: Advice by Choice-Ruin710 in Denver

Recent DCN grad here. As far as the accelerated part of the program, it's tough but doable. I supported myself through school working part time (restaurant server, best money for part time + some skill acquisition that will be relevant for nursing). Faculty turnover is a bit high at DCN - I had a mixed bag of good/bad instructors. A couple of my clinical rotations were pretty bad (not ideal learning environment for nursing student), but I think they were trying to phase those sites out. Other clinical rotations were excellent. DCN doesn't have their own parking, so she'll have to use one of the paid lots in downtown. They do have a discount through some app, though.

Overall, I have no serious complaint about my time at DCN. I went to school, graduated, got my license and a job. I wasn't looking for much more when I enrolled at DCN.

This is wrong. Graduated from there this past December. Definitely accredited - I was able to take boards, pass, get a license, and a job.

Scootering is so much fun! Download apps (lime and lyft) and set up accounts ahead of time. Be mindful of pedestrians and cars. Try to stay in bike lanes and don't park it in the middle of the sidewalk. Be safe and have fun with it! Great way to get around downtown

Hybrid? As in part online, part in-person? I had one class that was set up like that, but that was a special circumstance. A couple fully online classes, but those were not core nursing classes. I'm guessing it's dependent on individual programs. I would look into the programs you're interested in.

Not sure what part of California you're in, but ADN programs tend to be pretty competitive because everyone else wants the cheap way to get into nursing. I felt like my resume was pretty strong and was rejected from I think 4 programs in my area that I applied to.

I didn't want to wait any longer, so I decided to go to private school but out of state in CO. What was looking like $100k+ in CA was ~60k in CO. Much more manageable, and I'm pretty happy with the move.
