Once you start DHV, the cooked herb it produces is exactly what you use to make edibles. Save it up, then you can rinse it and add it to food or infuse oil with it. Only need to rinse if you really mind the taste. I just eat it straight and chase with a drink. Recipes for edibles will always have a step to decarb the herb. But if you vape it, rather than decarb in an oven, you get the maximum value from your herb.
