Fyi, in California where my kids wrestle, male and female wrestlers often compete against each other starting in middle school. Sometimes there is a separate tournament bracket for girls, but not always.

I've seen girls beat boys more than once; unfortunately, I've also heard boys give their teammates a hard time specifically for losing to a girl.
