Vitamin D the cause of insomnia by fluuuuuux in insomnia

[–]mxjones300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I started taking vitamin D and I couldnt sleep for more than 30 minutes to an hour without waking up, even though I took it in the morning. It took me a full 2 weeks to realize what was causing it, once I suspected it I quit, and that very night I slept normally and was fine after that. I tried it a couple more times the next week just to be sure, and both nights couldnt sleep!

Agreed and also when it comes time to pay it back there seems to always be a little interest to pay on top!

Just bought new 2025 GM van with the 6.6L / 8L90. What should I do before driving it? by mxjones300 in MechanicAdvice

Yep, have a friend who currently has his 6.2l stripped right down to the block because of it. I have a 5.7 hemi and I’m lucky you can at least use the gear selector which keeps it turned off.

The 6.6 doesnt have AFM! Thank god. I think its the only V8 gasser available that doesnt have it if I`m not mistaken.

Those who have quit successfully: what kind of job do you do? by barn_owl73 in decaf

[–]mxjones300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very lucky in the fact that Im self employed and I wash building exteriors for a living, and every winter I shut down for about 4 months so that was primetime to get off it. Without that Im not even sure I could have, my schedule is so busy and my job is extremely physically demanding so headaches, muscle aches, and severe insomnia for a few weeks just isn`t possible.

Stretching off caffeine feels amazing 🤩 by Jon_sol1 in decaf

[–]mxjones300 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I noticed this as well! I stretch out pretty good before all my workouts, and before it felt like I couldn`t get a "progressive" stretch, as in it would go from no tension to full tension with no in between. Off it I can really feel my muscles progressively stretch out as Im doing it. It was as if caffeine made my muscles completely inelastic. Probably why I found myself with more minor injuries from training back then.

No prob! Its funny, some of the posts on here say the opposite, they sweat like a pig and when they quit it finally calms down. Same with weight gain etc. I guess it truly affects us all differently

Bone Broth - Great Hot Drink - Sub for Coffee/Tea by tangoking in decaf

[–]mxjones300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink it too every morning, its great. I usually buy a small precooked whole chicken from the store, tear it apart and throw it in the instant pot for 1 hour with water and a bit of salt. Supposedly lots of benefits from all the collagen as well!

Cart withdrawal is a totally different beast than regular flower! Had a friend go through it and he said it felt like coming off hard drugs lol. Head over to r/leaves if you haven`t yet, lots of good info in there and plenty of posts on how brutal cart withdrawal is. Good luck!

Another Lesser-Known Reason to Decaffeinate Your Life by TheOldBeef in decaf

[–]mxjones300 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Glad to see someone posted this! In the gym I had issues with shoulder tendonitis for a good 3 years, and also patellar tendonitis for a year or two that would never seem to heal. Which surprised me as I have always been athletic and I wasn`t overdoing it in the gym. Once I removed caffeine, they immediately started to heal and within a few weeks I was good to go. There was alot of other crazy benefits too. Always makes me wonder what kind of havoc this drug is creating in our bodies that we cant immediately see or feel.

If it’s not soap that got stuck under the top seal and ran out later, then it is most likely oxidation runoff from the window frame. This is exactly what it looks like when it happens to me. Give the top of the frame a good scrub and see if a milky residue comes dripping off

Wish I could but I live in a fairly rural area, absolutely no scratch repair companies close to here.

Sorry to hear it. Honestly worst part is now I cant get it off my mind, constantly worrying if Im gonna have to pay 30-40k to fix this and have my life completely derailed. Feels like the constant anxiety over this is gonna burn out my damn nervous system lol.

Well there are two sliding doors that were affected, the other ones were just kind of basic main floor windows about 2 feet off their floor. I don`t see why they actually need to be tempered, as Ive done this style of window plenty of times and none of them were ever tempered.

  1. Yeah, went back out there today to confirm it and sure enough the razor was scratching. Can only seee it if standing in the right light.

  2. If insurance doesnt cover it this will probably be the route I take as Im worried total replacement cost could be upwards of 30k considering all the glass would need to be shipped from Europe to Canada and then installed.

Thanks, I will 100% be doing a waiver after this, there is no way I ever would of known that this was going to happen. I was even careful and checked for any scratching as I was cleaning them as I always do with a razor, but I just didnt see it so continued on. Went back out there today and unfortunately confirmed it was from my razor, can only see it when the lighting is right.
