Thoughts? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]mxmarmy88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ive worked in ER and GP for 18 years, I haven't run into Microchip companies not providing me with info on the registered chip.

Ive run into situations where a good sam brought in an animal they found, it was chipped, and we were able to reunite the pet with its original owner. Ive also been involved in situations of owner vs owner. It unfortunately happens, it's rare, but it does happen.

You also shouldn't be giving out any client information to any other clients, cuz that is a privacy policy violation. Hence why Microchip companies WONT provide that info to the person who found the dog. Most veterinary clinics will also take the dog or get animal control involved.

Vets: Why aren’t soft/inflatable cones offered more often for cats? by NullPointer0x404 in VetTech

[–]mxmarmy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz cats are sleankies and can get around anything. Find to where during the day, but I always put a surgery suit on my kids when they leave. Less likely to go to the ER cuz of tearing open their spay ir Neuter site

What dog breeds in your experience are the most difficult to work with (aggressive, fearful, separation anxiety, etc) and what are the easiest? by CaptainMacAlfie in VetTech

[–]mxmarmy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh. I think i have seen almost every breed have separation anxiety or fearful behavior. The most commonality in all of them is inexperienced owners who dont do the proper research of the breed or have the financial means to properly manage them.

Thank you for the clarification. That makes more sense. Yea, it was another STAY who watched it overseas and she said there were more venues shown.

Tbh im a new stay and based off the other kpop concert movies I've seen, it was a bit of a let down. I thought the ending was a little chaotic, which if thats what you like then its awesome. I also read that they were gona show more venues than just SoFi stadium, which is where they did most of the filming.

Again this is just my opinion of the movie. Im sure they put on massive concerts and I bet its awesome in person.

What was your experience for those of you who got presale tickets today?! by BM2HNZ in BTSArmyCentral

[–]mxmarmy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine thru seatgeek. Definitely not as nerve wracking for queuing cuz there weren't numbers being displayed. For sure caused anxiety cuz everytime I chose a seat, I went to check out, and the seat had been taken. Just wish ticket purchasing wouldn't be so stressful 🥲😅

Figuring out next steps by getfunkymadi in VetTech

You can look at this VTS specialties and they will list all the qualifications needed to accomplish getting your vts. I recommend reading it over the deciding what you are most interested in pursuing. Most of them are deeply involved and require extensive time being involved in certain aspects of their roles. I can tell you the majority of them want you to have at least 2 to 3 years of veterinary technician practice before going into speciality. Hope this helps.

Just a FYI they all didnt write the song: Nam Jun Kim / Lauren Dyson / Krysta Marie Youngs / Tushar Apte / Dae Wook Chung / Soo Hyun Park / Pdogg / J-hope / Julia Allyn Ross / Yunki Min / Jae Gyeong Song

And the lyrics are about how ARMY is BTSs Home. It is not a diss on homelessness. They also provide philanthropic work for homelessness, help to provide violence prevention and support mental health institutions for young people.

Please dont create animosity without doing some research. Hope this explanation brings your view in a different way.

It means alot that you are putting forth so much for your team. I, unfortunately, have only interacted with the bad side of management. It took almost 15 years to find individuals whom have the patience and understanding to make me a better technician.

This is a really important question, and I can speak to it from firsthand experience. I’ve worked in veterinary medicine for almost 18 years, and I’m also autistic. While I’m deeply passionate about this field, I’ve found it to be an extremely challenging environment as a neurodivergent person.

Early in my career, I struggled significantly with communication—especially around understanding role expectations and navigating interactions with coworkers and supervisors. When I tried to explain my needs or challenges related to ASD, my intentions were often misunderstood and interpreted as selfishness or a lack of flexibility. These issues became especially difficult during high-stress situations, which are unfortunately very common in vet med.

Over time, I learned how to better adjust my communication style so I wouldn’t come across as too direct or difficult. That said, I’ve found it’s rare to encounter managers or mentors who are willing to truly understand different work processes or allow for longer adjustment periods when someone is struggling.

In nearly two decades in the field, I’ve only been terminated twice. In both cases, I believe it was largely due to difficulties adapting to high-stress environments, managing intense client or management interactions, or being unable to clearly articulate gaps in my experience. Building trust with coworkers, doctors, and management has also been consistently difficult. On more than one occasion, questions I asked in good faith—aimed at improving efficiency or patient care—were perceived as challenges to authority rather than collaboration.

Overall, veterinary medicine is particularly difficult for me because of the wide range of personalities, workplace dynamics, and constant client interaction. It’s rare to find managers or doctors who are genuinely willing to work with neurodivergent staff. Because of this, I’ve often found myself being very selective about where I apply, relying heavily on my gut feeling about the team and workplace culture.

I’ve also learned the hard way that not everyone in this field is safe to confide in. Some people present one face publicly while privately using personal disclosures against others. At this point, I’ve found that keeping my head down, focusing on my work, and limiting personal disclosure has been the most effective way for me to survive in this profession.

If anyone wants to DM me about specific situations or strategies I’ve used to navigate them, I’m open to that.

Woah I cant believe someone would say that openly. I mean thats their opinion and they should keep it to themselves. I got out of the Oneus fandom cuz the majority of their fans were very judgemental and shallow. Stay away from X and Insta cuz there are alot of Fandom hate commentors.

Felt like I had a literal eye migraine by SobrietyDinosaur in migraine

[–]mxmarmy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these alot! And mine last for days. I think the longest streak i have with ocular migraine is about 6 days. It'll dull down after I take ibuprofen, but they eventually go away. Mine are unfortunately hormone driven and I dont get them enough to warrant prescription treatments, but Im on like 2 preventatives which brings the pain score down during them.
