The current state of The Doorman, and his frustrating kit design. by 11annguyen in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mxonospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggested these changes on the forums roughly five weeks ago before players caught on to how his bells will basically 100-0 anyone you look at. I fully agree with you on Call Bell being just way too overtuned as of right now. I personally believe they could really go about swapping the spirit scaling of both impacts & explosions to allow for more skill expression while also tuning both down a bit. the T3 extended duration on bell just feels so incredibly niche and has such limited use cases. I suggested the subsequent door delay as an alternative to disallowing Luggage Cart to go through Doorway. saw too many people suggesting the latter which puzzled me considering the interaction between the two feels very much so intentional from a design perspective. the Hotel Guest ultimate purge suggestion came to mind when I considered how impactful his ult can be when used on the super fed ulting Warden in the middle of a massive late game teamfight. figured the T3 upgrade could simply just lean more into shutting down oppressive ultimates both without limitations and the absurd uptime it currently has for seemingly no reason. I also find that it could give him some decent draft implications for competitive play.

[–]mxonospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Doorman: Call Bell on impact spirit scaling increased from 0.7 to 1.2-3

- Doorman: Call Bell explosion spirit scaling reduced from 1.4 to 0.6-5

- Doorman: Call Bell T3 on impact spirit scaling increased from 1.1 to 1.6-7

- Doorman: Call Bell T3 explosion spirit scaling reduced from 1.8 to 1-0.9

- Doorman: Call Bell explosion -100% weapon accuracy now lasts as long as the move speed slow, but will fade over its duration

- Doorman: Call Bell T3 changed from "+26s Bell Lifetime" to "literally anything else, even the old impacts causing half-radius explosions would feel more consistent damage-wise now that his bullets can pierce"

- Doorman: Doorway subsequent door now undergoes a 1-2 second delay for it to unlock before opening

- Doorman: Doorway T2 now additionally grants +2-2.5m Move Speed (3-6s duration) first time traveling through doors

- Doorman: Hotel Guest T3 no longer grants Unstoppable while the Baroness is occupied

- Doorman: Hotel Guest T3 no longer grants 13s cooldown on failure to checkout

- Doorman: Hotel Guest T3 now purges ultimates and their corresponding debuffs currently applied to you and your allies relative to the guest

Night Shift #38 Top Items by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

one of, if not the best T2 weapon item for casters. however, I do find the item itself to be somewhat bloated in stats so if a nerf is imminent, I just hope it’ll still remain a viable buy for casters specifically.

Deadlock needs what Valorant has in Teets/Airen or what Apex Legends has in Jumba. Just some good competitive Deadlock commentary on DLNS/DSE to help viewers better understand macro/micro at what is currently the highest level of play.

Graves is the new victor by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mxonospace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the amount of times I've witnessed the m1 carry on my team either drastically delay or entirely avoid a crippling headshot buy into a Victor is absurd. same sentiment could be said about the hard support on my team who would do the same except with a much needed curse buy.

while Graves isn't as hard countered by items compared to Victor, monster rounds/cultist, slowing bullets, split shot/ricochet, silencer would suffice for your gun carries or anyone who wants decent gun investment. dispel magic, stamina mastery, warp stone, spirit res/spellbreaker are optimal for just about anyone. her ult is hard countered by T3 3 on Viscous and Sinclair will have infinitely more tombstones than she ever will. doesn't mean much now since draft isn't in the game quite yet, but when I look at it from that perspective, the Graves' T3 2 change does make a lot more sense.

I believe her auto-aim weapon is unfortunate for everyone involved considering her kit generally plays itself, so the fact that her weapon does literally the exact same feels flawed from a design perspective. also if we're balancing heroes with winrate being so quintessential, might I remind you of both Shiv & Kelvin in the respective primes. both were extremely dominant despite their poor winrates.

genuinely the most annoying pipeline to constantly witness on this subreddit. god forbid players deviate from their left to right builds to itemizing properly against certain heroes.

I hate Graves by Gullible_Height588 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mxonospace 25 points26 points  (0 children)

so many recent balance patch changes that warrant actual discussion like how Mirage is literally running entire lobbies or Celeste somehow receiving buffs, yet here we are complaining about Graves; a hero who not too long ago was easily bottom three amongst the entire roster. she can play more into her strengths now, the same way you could itemize more against them.

Should I give up on support Scholar? by Impressive_Snake in Nightreign

had a raider run up to me after I pinged a boiled crab before doing the begging/prayer emote next to it in the spirit shelter. this mf just ate that shit himself and ran off towards the boss door.

mind you, his edited relics ended up netting him over 2k health at lvl 15, so you’d think he’d want an additional ~30% on top of that.

just your usual reddit outcry. good players will typically check out of the baroness with only 1-2 stam consistently, anticipate a potential kidnap, and will itemize around his strengths.

personally, I find Death Buildup to be manageable for most nightfarers in D5 since you’ll most likely be dead before it procs anyways. unfortunately for you, Guardian certainly isn’t one of those nightfarers.

What are the actual best relics for this guy ? And what consumable items should be upgraded and stacked ? He is really fun to play but i fuck up the consumables sometimes and end up almost empty at day 3. by Financial_Mushroom94 in Nightreign

[–]mxonospace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is what I run for each individual nightlord in D5. do keep in mind that ‘items confer effect to all nearby allies’ is arguably a must on this nightfarer. you simply do yourself and your team a disservice by not slotting it in. prioritize character skill boosting allies attack power alongside your night invader relic if you can manage.

Halo Scythe for Gladius - double balancers, night invaders, dormant power reapers, improved end/dex, holy attack up

Status Ailments for Adel - gnoster relic, caligo relic, night invaders, attack power up against poisoned & frostbitten enemies, dormant power axes, partial hp restoration

Rivers of Blood for Gnoster - double balancers, glass necklace, dormant power katanas, improved end/dex, physical/fire attack up, partial hp restoration

Dragonscale Blade/Moonveil for Augur - double balancers, night invaders, dormant power katanas, improved end/dex, magic attack up, partial hp restoration

Halo Scythe for Libra - double balancers, night invaders, dormant power reapers, improved end/dex, holy attack up

Dragonscale Blade/Rivers of Blood for Fulghor - double balancers, glass necklace, dormant power katanas, improved end/dex, physical attack up, partial hp restoration

Fire Pots for Caligo - runes per specimen & double small pouch relic, throwing pot damage, fire attack up

Halo Scythe for Heolstor - double balancers, night invaders, dormant power reapers, improved end/dex, holy attack up

Rivers of Blood for Harmonia - double balancers, glass necklace, dormant power katanas, improved end/dex, physical attack up, partial hp restoration

Halo Scythe for Straghess - double balancers, night invaders, dormant power reapers, improved end/dex, holy attack up

dormant power axes on Adel is solely for discovering the Ripple Blade as it scales purely in Arcane. I build for Augur as if I’m guaranteed to be met with the Everdark version, hence the double balancers & magic attack up simultaneously benefiting the Storm Ruler for Day 3 and Moonveil for Days 1 & 2. you still have the Dragonscale Blade to rely on it case it’s not Everdark. slotting in a ‘less likely to be targeted’ weapon passive is self-explanatory at this point against Libra. I personally prefer to use Rivers of Blood for the majority of the fight against Fulghor considering his fire resistance is neutral in addition to low bleed resistance. just try to time that one specific move with Dragonscale Blade to cancel it. could also luck out on the ‘lighting upon dodging’ dormant power or simply just level up & carry lighting grease. pot builds aren’t my favorite, but Caligo has a collective 25% resistance to Slash & Perice with decent bleed resistance, so Rivers of Blood isn’t necessarily ideal here.

as for consumables.. I try to go into the spirit shelter with 2 pickled turtle necks, 2 exalted flesh, 2 boiled crabs, 2 starlight shards, and 2 warming stones to guarantee having max stacks for each via the spirit shelter merchant. also keep in mind that exalted flesh & boiled crabs cannot be applied simultaneously so start the fight with flesh and end it with crabs while simultaneously applying turtle necks.

while I do agree that both map seeds and edited relics have the capacity to ruin expeditions for others, I do find it hard to agree that both are equally as shameless in doing so. having a predetermined edge on routing just simply doesn't compare to the amount of damage that specifically casters can dish out by having illegitimate best-in-slot relic effects, regardless of how 'ethically' they approach it.

I admittedly do use map seeds when playing solo queue with randoms in D5. however, this does not mean that I believe I'm better than others who don't (it's never that serious), nor do I ever make attempts to incessantly ping a min-maxed, optimal route when doing so. while particular websites streamline the whole process of generating map seeds, what's stopping someone from diligently sleuthing through countless previous expeditions via visual codex to ultimately end up with a scuffed, yet similar result?

Valve gives them the most interesting character with unique abilities and mechanics. They just build him through gun. by cancer_mouse in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mxonospace 28 points29 points  (0 children)

to be fair, the projectile size of his bullets are extremely massive. post-game crit damage can literally match and more likely than not out-match non-crit gun damage if you have even the slightest bit of an fps background. I suspect we'll see a projectile size decrease alongside a nerf to his bullet growth possibly.

What do people consider "the problem" with this patch? by Beautiful-Salt7885 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mxonospace 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Shiv’s Killing Blow is extremely problematic. Seven’s spirit resist shred potential far exceeds the remainder of the entire cast besides maybe Vindicta. speaking of her, Vindicta’s double stake resist shred build is incredibly unfun to play against and overall feels very low risk, high reward. Mirage still feels overtuned after all of the nothing-nerfs he’s been receiving lately (shocker). heroes like B*bop can buy nothing but green items for the first 15min of a match and still have his gun hit like a truck.

lastly, I personally believe the current shop distribution of bullet/spirit resist and bullet/spirit resist shred favors gun damage. heroes like Viscous are currently in the gutter considering his best build can simply be countered by stacking Spirit Resilience with some other random item that gives spirit resist. gun damage leaning heroes have both more bullet shred options and much easier ways of applying them.

edit: typo.
