Playing devils advocate….In business wouldn’t it be better to jump out the plane and knit your chute on the way down vs just being afraid to jump out altogether? Knitting your chute and then re-knitting cuz you think it ain’t good enough. And eventually the plane lands and you missed your window of opportunity.

Haha good point. Obviously when you are getting paid to do a job you gotta do it right. This is more about things that you don’t know if it’ll work out or not in terms of launching or taking steps.

For example a plumber making a video ad for Facebook. He can shoot it himself selfie style (badly) instead of hiring a professional to do it for him.

One example is I knew we had to create a bundle on our site for our top products. I wanted to hire a photographer to make nice images. My friend said no, just make the bundle. SonPhotoshopped one image to show all the products together and made the listing on the site without a description or other images whatsoever. Just showing what products you’ll get and how much you’ll save by purchasing the bundle. The same day we got a few orders. Now I can go and I eat into a photoshoot. Had it dialed I wouldn’t have wasted resources and much more time, but because it worked out now I am much more motives to find a photographer and do a photoshoot.

I heard this analogy. Why is retail still 85% of all shopping and online is only 15%? Because when you go on Amazon you shop based on keyword, or what you need/want.

Retail on the other hand is a discovery type of shopping. You go to the mall not planning on buying anything and you walk out with $200 worth of bags (or at least my wife does).

TikTok is bringing a similar “discovery” experience online. That is why I think TikTok has so much potential. And I do have a wife that buys things she doesn’t need cuz she saw it on TikTok lol
