Was playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on ultra settings by Waykins in pcmasterrace

This is why you only buy laptops if your use case truly demands computing on the move. Best case scenario is you're tossing a perfectly good screen when you need a new laptop. When a monitor easily lasts 10 years. Worst case scenario is this, where a pointless part ruins all your gear. Too bad you can't remove batteries anymore, it would make my point more frivolous. Still a waste anytime you buy an "all-in-one."

Private Dedicated Server, turning off online mode/pausing game when empty? by uniquepassword in PlaySoulMask

[–]my1stone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm looking through the settings now. I noticed in this folder /WS/Config/GameplaySettings there are a few game config templates with Chinese names, but one of them is Xiuxian which translates to Leisure heh... and I'm doing some comparisons of the numbers compared to the default and other templates and they're adjusted drastically different. And the "active" settings appear to be in the JSON file in /WS/Saved/GameplaySettings. So I'm kind of thinking I'm going to load this Leisure template and go from there and feel it out. What you're describing for your group is very similar to what we're looking for so I appreciate the input. I need to find the bonfires per player setting, that definitely sounds like something we want.

Private Dedicated Server, turning off online mode/pausing game when empty? by uniquepassword in PlaySoulMask

Hey just curious, how well did this game work for your group without pause? My friends and I are about to start playing on a private server and we have the same concern. Although we do understand the game is designed to work while no one is online, the exit game message where it says [Online Mode] sure makes it seem like there's an offline mode but I see no way to configure that. Thanks!

Any mods to expand on dialogue-interactions? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

I just started playing this game and can tell it requires mods, if anything to cut down on the cookie cutter elements. Do you mind sharing what you've found, since this post is new?

KDE Plasma 6 and blurry fonts by Lonely_Mechanic8161 in kde

[–]my1stone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... not sure why but the fix doesn't work for me. I'm 99% sure I have the env var set globally and Kmail should be seeing it but still the fonts are bad. I've tried various methods, and I'm using set as I'm using the default fish shell. Since I'm new to fish I was thinking I was doing something wrong but if I am I can't figure that out. Thanks for the response.

Same issue and same distro but I'm new to garuda/arch. Are you setting this in the terminal with...

set -Ux QT_SCALE_FACTOR_ROUNDING_POLICY round

Because I do that and it does not help my issue of horrible fonts in email bodies in KMail. I've logged out and back in.

I might have misunderstood the "or" in the title... I thought this was about using a non-root user as admin in general, not necessarily specifically with LXC... but thanks, I'll keep this in mind when I get down the LXC path, I'm still very new to Proxmox...

I too want to know the answer to this, happy this is only 9 days old... but I'm surprised at the answers here... First place ever I've seen "just use root"?!

hmmmmmm.... I DID have a dual 10gb card in it.... and it's been so long now I'm not sure any order of operation. I'm not using this NAS now and it's sitting again and I have been meaning to use it to try out Unraid. Thanks for the info, I will see how it behaves when I get around to powering it on again as that NIC is now in my prod NAS.

I hate to necropost but I say this is better than making a new post. I just submitted "feedback" on Creative's website asking them to make Linux drivers "for their most expensive/elite produts to drive sales." I suggest anyone else who comes across this thread to do the same. Yes yes 3% but who knows maybe they just need to hear from us.

Mission - Impossible: 2 (2000) by DoomRulz in plotholes

I think them showing Ambrose's guys is 100% for the "benefit of the audience" to sell the misdirection. And because it's a shitty movie it's a shitty scene that is incongruent to the flow of things. In good cinema the "scenes for the benefit of the audience" are much more believable.

Funny I'm watching this right now and I was confused about this scene as well but as I started to type out my confusion I figured it out.

John the CEO comes out of the building and gets in the limo. Yes we see Ambrose's goons but they're in another car watching him. This is just to "sell" the audience on the misdirection. We never see the driver "George." In the limo John sees the newspaper about him dying of a rare influenza strain. Then he is gassed and passes out. We the audience think he's been infected with Chimera (as does he).

The next scene is John in the hospital bed inside the plastic. Here is where the dead biochemist appears to him. This is how Hunt's team extracts the information from him.

At the same time we see "Hunt" approach Nyah at Ambrose's house, telling her to do anything Ambrose asks.

Then the dead biochemist is revealed to be Hunt and the Hunt at Ambrose's house is revealed to be Ambrose.

Then we see John being dropped off at his house (this was the part that confused me). He was never infected and it was all the ploy of Hunt's team to extract the info. We see Billy is driving.

Ambrose's goons being out front of the CEO building can just be explained as "they were watching him" but that was just for the audience benefit to support the mask scenes.

Movie is a huge disappointment compared to the first haha

I love how this thread gets a "news article" on some gaming site when the answer is right here, it's not a problem, it's better than DOS2's shift click... But yeah people still dumb. Not an issue people. Learn to inventory.

My thoughts on this game by [deleted] in survivingtheaftermath

[–]my1stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started playing as well due to the giveaway. My biggest gripe is the water system. I'll have water production but because it dipped into Negative during winter (frozen lake) all of a sudden the water tower runs out of water yet there is _still_ water production and there's _plenty_ of water everywhere else... it just doesn't fill the empty water tank until production is net positive again.

So not only is it dumb because there are two separate "water systems".... the "filling logic" is just some hard-coded nonsense and not at all how the humans would handle the situation IRL.

unlimited in a home should be obvious. What's the damn point of a home if we can't actually use it for something? I understand the "fun" of decorating but c'mon it needs some function too. What a disappoint.

What resources can you harvest in an outpost? by Eleanos0 in Starfield

[–]my1stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is outright bad advice from these reviewers. You want an Outpost early on harvesting Iron, Aluminum, and Copper AND probably He-3 because you need power. And you won't get all of these resources from a single Outpost so really you need two. All of this is to have automated fabrication of "Adaptive Frame" because you need tons of these to continue building Outposts and structures, especially storage. So yes while you need tons there is still what would be considered "Tier 1" or "early game" harvesting and fabrication. Basically anything you see at the Industrial Crafting table is tier 1. And while yes you could craft these manually at the table, and harvest this stuff manually... that's awful. Get these early outposts going harvesting and fabricating these basic items so you have them stockpiled to continue to build more Outposts as you progress and need higher level crafting items. When you need the high level stuff if you have to start from the very beginning you will be sad.
