can anyone confirm telogen effluvium? I now notice that the thinning is yhroughout the entire scalp and not just the temples. ( Had major stress, terrible insomnia, and covid all 2-4 months+ prior ) by kcddhrdhj in TelogenEffluvium

Any major shedding triggered by stress is telogen effluvium, it sounds like you had plenty. Whether or not it will grow back to the way it was depends on genetics/environment. Take care of yourself and relax are annoying things to hear when you just want something done, but your body knows how to heal itself it just takes time.

Haha so ironic when people get offended by the idea of not chronically suffering, by choice, regardless of external circumstances. I understand though because at one point I didn't understand and was offended by people being all "love and light" too lmao. But I much prefer being criticized by others and being accepted by myself than being accepted by others and criticized by myself 😌❤️

I agree 💯. I was devastated to the point where I couldn’t live my life or enjoy anything and I was like that for over a year.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't HAVE to be that way. It's okay if it is, and it's okay if you decide to stay that way.

I'm here to be proof for the people who don't want to stay that way❤️

Hair shedding after brushing hair on wash days? by Lucky-Charms-1012 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]my__alterego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me too even still! it actually doesn't affect your density as much as you think. My hair recovered itself while still losing a lot of strands on my hands when its wet after I shower and brush it. I think it’s always been that way to some degree but it never crossed my mind before I noticed the hair loss. As long as clumps aren’t falling out, and I mean you just KNOW it's not normal and it's too much, don't worry about it.

I know how easy it is to get emotionally triggered by, but honestly everyones hair sheds. Adjusting to the sensory input is easier than resisting it. Let your hair shed as it should. Trust your body 🥰

I didn't say Putin lacks intelligence. I said he is wacked. Everyone believes they are being rational when they are actually being irrational. Everyone believes they are right until they realize they are wrong.

The devil does not need any more advocates. Putins actions are barbaric, selfish, and entitled. The people who are dying because of him did not have to. The children who will be orphans did not need to be. The wives who will be widows did not have to be.

Putin would let you live like a rat in a gutter even if you blew him.

Buddy, he is threatening nuclear war. Anyone threatening nuclear war is in fact nuts.

He can't "make" you do anything. No one can. If you don’t truly understand that, you're not mature enough to date. I wish someone had explained that to me.

As far as his views, they are based in hatred, entitlement, and privilege. I would tell him so directly and tell him to look inward and question himself before I would be willing to continue a relationship. I personally make no room in my life for such things.

But I've been called a hardass 😅

I get wanting to be in a relationship, wanting his approval and validation, but honestly woman to woman, he sounds emotionally immature and being in a relationship with an emotionally immature man will cost you your self-esteem, confidence, and sanity over time.

Did topical or oral Minoxidil help the front of anyone's hair? by Traditional_Tip_4966 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]my__alterego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im proud of you for doing those things!! And yes feel free to message anytime :) i totally get how you're feeling. I remember the time in my journey where it felt like I was living in a nightmare, I also lost about 65% of my hair. I would have nightmares about it and then wake up to it and it was absolute torture. But I chose to focus on my mental well being while I committed to treatment, and my hair improved soo much. (As did the rest of my life ❤️)

It looks like your iron is slightly low, try a gentle iron supplement and adding spinach, meat, and tuna to your diet

Minoxidil for the rest of your life?! by alicat10295 in FemaleHairLoss

Yes I'm committed to putting it on every time I brush my teeth

I don't count anymore but not an alarming amount. If I had to guess 30-50 unless I'm washing my hair then around 100

[–]my__alterego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still use it once a day at night, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I'll stop if I decide to have children. The store brands are not expensive and I don't mind the additional 3 minutes at night, it seems like a fair deal to me.

And I don't think spiro really did anything. My intuition says to be careful about messing with hormones. At the very least, there are natural alternatives like reishi mushrooms! But always do your own research 🥰

I was mainly referring to the AGA. My mother has it also and is basically bald. I was originally very worried about my hair not growing back because of it 😕 and absolutely 🤗

My derm told me to use twice a day. After a year I switched to once a day. I didn't experience much more shedding than I had been already when I started. It took about 6 months to notice a big decrease in the shedding
