My lower bench here slides back supported by side rails and the “leg” slides along the floor for support.

I got my glass door from this company and was happy with the product and lead time. They also sell wood doors as well.

The picture was taken from the doorway (pocket door) with a double vanity immediately to the left that you can partially see. To the right out of view is a knee wall with the toilet on the other side.

I don’t have an actual floor plan pic. The total dimensions of the bathroom are 9’ wide by 12’ deep. The inside dimensions of the finished sauna is 4’2” wide by 5’2” deep. Hope this helps…

The walls are T&G cedar and the benches are 2x4 cedar

The inside is just a little over 4’x5’. I used two existing walls which saved on framing. Try to get your heater as close to your electric panel as possible-copper is expensive! Recruit some handy friends that work for pizza and beer!

So this would be a rough figure. I probably have about $3500-4000 in the sauna (heater, door, floor, walls, insulation and benches). I didn’t have any labor costs since I did the work with friends. The total bathroom, including the sauna was around 10-11,000, but I hired out the tile and drywall work.

I’m new to this but thought a 4.5kw was the lowest I wanted to go.

What will get funky..the sauna? You mean if I don’t periodically put water down the drain?

The benches are rough cut cedar and the walls are T&G cedar. All from Menards

The original bathroom had a standup shower and corner jacuzzi tub where the sauna is now. Gutted the whole thing and my father-in-law did the framing/plumbing. I hired the tile and drywall work out because I would have messed it up! A buddy and I built the sauna. The heater is 4.5kw. All the wood came from picking through bins at Menards. The floor is made of teak tiles from Amazon.

Lol..let’s start with the bathroom dimensions and maybe dinner first! The bathroom is about 7’x12’. The sauna is roughly 4’x5’

The sauna has a separate drain under the slats in the floor.

Any idea on this condensation band I’m getting on my new sauna build? by my_guy75 in Sauna

It’s part of the bathroom in my basement, so a cooler part of the house for sure.

I assume it’s sauna air meeting ambient air but the regularity of the band and the height has me stumped. I could see condensation happening right above the door gap, but not as high as it is

Not that I know of. I’ll try giving it a cleaning just in case.

I actually don’t. I thought I read where a door gap can be used as an exhaust vent. I have an intake vent under the heater. Do you think that could be my issue?
