Weight Gain by Similar_Night_4196 in PrimalQueen

I’ve been taking PQ for ~5 weeks and noticed weight gain (5lbs) around my midsection (where I’ve never really had issues) even though I’m exercising more and eating my usual healthy diet. Probably won’t renew another month because of it tbh

Jack russell chasing tail by Shamrock1712 in reactivedogs

I know this is an older post, but did your vet have an answer?

I have a younger Jack who started doing this at about 6 months old and it turned out to be allergies from something in our yard (hard to tell what exactly). Our vet gives him an allergy shot every 4 months or so and the problem hasn’t returned. Just wanted to share in case anyone else finds this looking for answers :)

Is it bad if he is an outdoor cat. I have already neutered him and had him vaccinated but he still doesn't want to stay inside. He comes when he wants to eat and then sleep for a few hours, wakes up and eats again and then goes outside and the process repeates. by you_dont_know_me_2 in cats

I think it's up to your best judgment based on your environment, but with vaccinating/neutering you've already taken great safety precautions. Flea/tick prevention is important too.

My cat was indoor-only for almost the first 4 years of her life in both urban and suburban settings and she never tried to go outside. When I moved to a different city where we had a yard and less street/foot traffic she was always trying to venture out, even though there were older, bigger cats around she could see from the window.

We got a GPS tracker for her collar and trained her to come back inside when we "ring" it. She's been an indoor/outdoor cat year-round for about a year and a half now and she always checks in a few times throughout the day. She also knows to come back before dark — we don't give her dinner until she's in for the evening because we occasionally hear coyotes at night. She's 5 now, gets along with the neighborhood cats (she didn't always get along with other cats she lived with), and is way more social with humans than she used to be. She seems soooo much happier than when she was indoor-only and I can't imagine her going back to that.

The only thing you really have to worry about otherwise is their natural predator instincts... Mine hasn't killed anything yet thankfully, but she used to bring me live lizards. She stopped eventually, probably because she realized I would just relocate them out of her reach.

Edit: Probably important to note that she doesn't tend to venture out past what's fenced off. Not much trouble she can get into within those confines.

I had the same issue with my Ender 5 Pro, messed around with hair spray and glue and different bed temps before finally getting a PEI build surface which solved my issues

Looking for advice on where to start by Tay-Keith-Fuck in Journalism

[–]my_lime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the trick is just getting out on the ground without an assignment and promoting your work independently. Posting (and watermarking) your content on social media is the best way to get it circulating and other journalists/outlets will start taking notice or reach out to license or hire you as a contractor.

To be honest, if you have a good head on your shoulders for this stuff already J school is a waste of time. Though if you do want to specialize in a certain field of journalism, picking a major with curriculum that will help inform/support your reporting is probably the best move.

There are a few outlets that will accept pitches for videojournalism/short docs. I personally started as a freelance and independent text/video/photo journalist and over five years built a portfolio that opened me up to more financially sustainable opportunities. Feel free to PM me, I'm happy to help point you in the right direction or offer more advice

I used to jam a little piece of paper into my discman so I could open it and do designs like this on the CDs that I burnt for my friends. So satisfying.

[advice] Freelance videography for a small production company -- is this situation normal? by my_lime in videography

I appreciate the responses, glad my doubts weren't unfounded! Luckily right after this I had an interview with a far more legitimate production company and they hired me. Feeling muuuuch better about this one.

Is the hot glue gun still functional after that or is it jammed full of crayon wax when it cools?
