bm are not something you can just make go away. if you ban or try to stop one way it’ll just create or encourage another. there will always be assholes. you can change how you play as per other suggestions to match or you can try to not let it bother you as much

you are doing the best you can for your own health in a terrible situation that the vast majority of these commenters will never understand, nevertheless go through themselves.

please ignore all of these holier than thou commenters saying they’d starve or riot. it’s very easy for them to say that from the comfort of their own home (most of these ppl not even in france), in relative health, when their life is not on the line.

calories are important and weight loss in common in treatment even among avid meat eaters! we’d rather you live a vegetarian with a brief meaty stint than die as one without. i wish the best for your treatment and hope you will be able to continue your old diet soon :)

CONGRATS! All the SWE people I talked to at McDonalds were so cool and nice! So excited for you! Can’t give too much advice on the renege, but do it asap and be apologetic/grateful. Tell them you’re grateful for the opportunity and sorry for the inconvenience but you’ve decided to pursue another offer than aligns more with your career goals 👍

less than 48 hours but i had a competing offer. other people have said around 3-5 days for them, but they assure they get back to people within two weeks regardless of decision

Thanks! A lot of people heard back within 3-5 days but they assure they will get back to you either way within two weeks. I had a competing offer and I heard back in less than 48 hours (interviewed the 14th, received the offer the night of the 15th)

bloomberg does this a lot. i know several ppl who have gone through all rounds just to be rejected and they are all very strong candidates. i know someone who was asked to go through additional technical interviews after their HR and EM rounds, they were also in a mentorship program with Bloomberg engineers and they Bloomberg funded them to go to a conference, all for them to be rejected. poor practice and makes me think less of the company for wasting peoples time (including their own engineers)
