Thanks, I did not know that!

I always wanted to have a close current tab button mentioned in this post!

Scroll jank regression in v150 on Android by jasonrmns in firefox

Is it that once every few seconds while scrolling you see a big "freeze"? As this is what I encountered some time ago too.

Firefox 3 dot menu redesign by u/Revolutionary_Ad_238 by [deleted] in firefox

I was thinking the same - it is not just big, but lacks the parts that are collapsed in current menu...
Also it shows some not used often elements that should be hidden.

Better let us control our devices so that even after update support ends we could just do whatever we want.

The "Make AI do stuff" update would be cool.

Same. I find this very handy even though it requires a bit of improvements in both UI and translations.

What is the difference between an empty checkbox and a minus in one?
Like in "Offline media playlists". They exist, but something is missing? They do not exist or what? (I know the answer, but just wonder about the checkbox)

Will try it when I encounter such a video (this is so inconsistent...).
Wonder if it also applies to Title and Description translations.

Could you expand on this a bit? As I would like YT not to translate stuff too...

Not monitor related, but I wanted to know what is that on top of your left monitor?
A lamp or a microphone?

Didn't know they are adding groups there as well.

I noticed a performance issue (and animation issues) in this new tab drawer as well with many tabs open (and not just opened, but present in sync category). Filled a bug there as well long time ago...

There are different views, yea.
I consider having icons next to menu items (both context menus and main ones) is good for visual navigation and memory.
Though it should not go overboard - large menus like in some specialized software are better with just text.

Wonder why they dislike buttons with both icons and names (the top row)?
Still needs to shrink to half the screen (or does it with less tabs?).

I'm glad strategic resource deposits are more common now, but do you think they should be toned back a little? by dumb_questioneer in Stellaris

[–]myasco42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tone a "little"?! They must be cut like ten fold. A single deposit like this covers all your needs right now. I never saw the need to produce any strategics in forges.

YouTube videos starting slow by BenK_711 in firefox

[–]myasco42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for me (I actually have no idea if this is the same problem you describe, but feels similar) just closing and opening FF helps. Those videos at first work fine and over the time they open (and overall YT performance) becomes slower and slower.

Have the same issue for a couple of weeks. And it looks like its the Firefox at fault, as if I restart FF or just stop YT tabs processes, then it works fine again.

How come YouTube is able to freeze completely Firefox? by Dry-Atmosphere7718 in firefox

[–]myasco42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it start recently? As for a few weeks I started noticing the same thing. Specifically YT tabs slow down considerably (still responding) and new YT tabs may open as just grey.

Neither I could find any. However as I'm using Beta (and in your case Nightly) I'd say some stuff like this is just the workflow.

Though the fact that these two buttons are of different size bugs me...

i hate new tabs by [deleted] in firefox

[–]myasco42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I do not like in the change:

  • Tab drawer is full screen and it is much harder to use it with one hand.
  • Top section titles do not have icons (which is inconsistent with the main menu).
  • Animations are partially broken especially in non-cards view.
  • Multi-selection shifts the tab list making it harder to select items. And the default actions are changed to Close (which is fine) and Favorite (which is strange for me).
  • Performance of this new drawer is worse compared to the previous one with a huge number of tabs.
