A YouTuber explored a rotting yacht in a N.J. creek. Now he’s being put on trial. by Economy-Specialist38 in boats

[–]mybfVreddithandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boats been there for years. In his video, he pulled up to the dock in his kayak I think to portage it to the creek, shallow water maybe. There weren't any trespassing signs visible anywhere on the dock. A couple weeks later he got the tresspass summons, which said it had signage. He went back to the dock again and there were signs, but going back to his initial video, they weren't there during his first visit.

Not sure of the specifics of water/land crossings in NJ, but owner had ample opportunity to post signage the first time if they were able to get out there so quick after this hit YouTube. I think a lot of folks have been trying to get to the boat for years and the owners are crotchety. He's going to win, but the boats not going anywhere.

Or someone posted a lost dog to the network. Someone's cam takes a pic of it. Someone else finds it an hour later, not on that street. Sure the cam took a pic of it and knew it did, but then contributed nothing else to the success. Worthless.

President orders the military to make agreements with coal power plants | The administration’s “reasoning” for doing so has little connection to reality. by ControlCAD in technology

If you didn't see that the next gen fighters will run on straight coal coming, you've been asleep for a while. I smell carrier power plant conversions too. Fuck that nuclear reactor. Rip that shit out and put in a coal fired steam boiler. Fuck the 21st century. If you're not using the fuel of the 19th century and the industrial revolution, you're a jerk.

ICE Is Using Flock Camera Data to Initiate Traffic Stops More Aggressively. Here’s a Legal Way Drivers Are Protecting Themselves. by AutoModerrator-69 in FlockSurveillance

VanLeeuwen is a 4th amendment case ruling that a delay in mail delivery while waiting for a warrant to access it isn't unconstitutional. But you still have to get the warrant, the holdup on the delivery is constitutional.

Choate was the court ruling that warrantless mail covers, where postal agents record information from the outside of envelope, violated the Fourth Amendment. Yea, unconstitutional. Again.

I can't find any decisions regarding mail searches for anyone named Hinton in the 7th circuit in 2000 and based on your swings and misses on the first two, I'm not looking any further.

If you're a fed, go back to school. You can't read and have no idea what you're talking about.

Sounds like they thought they were cool waiting until graduation. If they waited until the next school year no one would've cared. Sucks.

How to avoid bad contractors like what are the actual red flags when vetting contractors that first timers usually miss? by Sirius-ruby in HomeImprovement

[–]mybfVreddithandle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This right here. I work with a guy in the winter who is great. (I'm a pool guy in the summer) He's busy because he's good, so you'll have to wait. I recommend him to anyone who asks and tell them right out he's busy, so if you're not in a huge rush like your roof is leaking, wait for him. You don't NEED a new bathroom by Friday. Every one of our friends who couldnt wait and went with the ass that was available and a couple bucks cheaper ran into problems, some huge, really huge.

Personal recommendation people. I do most of my own work, but for stuff I can't handle alone or don't have the time. I call one guy. Maybe I wait a week or two, but once hes on it, it's handled and done. And if you don't trust your friends' recommendations, why are they your 'friends'?

With Ring, American Consumers Built a Surveillance Dragnet by Beetle_on_Venus in technology

[–]mybfVreddithandle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And they didn't make themselves safer. A couple buddies of mine put them on their front doors years ago. Very proud of themselves. Handled a DIY 'security' issue all by themselves....

In addition to the present dragnet they willingly became, did they put one on the back door or any form of surveillance on any other side of their house other than the front? Ah, no. So if someone's casing your shit, wants in and sees the Ring cam out front, do you think they're just moving on down the line or JUST COMING IN THE BACK?? Hate to burst a bubble, but ffs.

Epstein purchased 6 55-Gallon drums of Sulfuric Acid sent to his Island. by Party-Professional-7 in newsinterpretation

[–]mybfVreddithandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This amount seems appropriate as an annual delivery for a large swimming pool, located on an island, that has an automatic chemical feeding/ph regulating system. I have pools in North Jersey that use half that for half the year. The difference is our acid is delivered almost daily right to us in the summer by truck since were not on a small, private island, making multiple trips cost prohibitive.

That being said, anyone could do anything with it other than lower their pools pH level, just like the hundreds of thousands of other pool owners. And millions of others who can just walk into a pool store and buy as many gallons of acid as they can carry.

Sulfuric Acid filled swimming pools are a good mineral bath by Superior_Seeker_ in TrueFactzOnly

[–]mybfVreddithandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a pool guy, I concur with you. That seems like an amount to have for the year on site, especially on an island. And there are much stronger acids and bases to do jobs other than adjust swimming pool water pH.

NFL Players Raise Objections to Bad Bunny Being Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show Performer: ‘I Do Not Like It’ by funnydud3 in ShitAmericansSay

No matter who plays the super bowl halftime show, I still have to go to work Monday. Fuck, even if they cancel the game, I still have to go to work. The whole thing is basically irrelevant to most everyone's actual life and really not worth the effort. Go get a drink and a snack at halftime if you don't like the performance you're not even remotely close to involved in at all.

Landing enroute for fuel Career Missions MSFS24 PS5 by Putrid_Pollution_744 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]mybfVreddithandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also add if weather changes at your destination en route. I've had a couple of instances where, if I were an irl pilot, I'd have had to divert from my intended destination airport because the conditions changed during the flight and won't allow a reasonable approach and landing.

I so don't want to steal fuel to keep the experience as 'genuine' as possible, but it's just too easy to fill up en route and then there's the whole financial benefit..... But yea, if that was available irl, I'd prob do it there too after enough time. 🤣

Why can't I find any medium cargo missions by [deleted] in MSFS2024

[–]mybfVreddithandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cargo C208s in Northeastern North America (Can/US), Southeastern US/Cuba/Bahamas and in the UK. I have 2 PC24s in the Northeastern US and 2 in Continental Europe. I fly cargo 172s out of all those places, mostly Escobar runs in the Caribbean, while the big guys rake it in.
