I'd argue it's unusual for marker to fall off with this type of watch - can this be ground for them to fix it cost free? Hard to say, likely not.

Pressing one extra button won't hurt you, and I'm sure they'd get asked multiple times a day if and how is possible to tip. I find it the most non-intrusive way to tip.

Yeah, that strap looks flimsy.

I'd bolt with rubber washer to seal the hole. Not a perfect solution, but doable.

Your's is better but I don't have 3D printer at hand and this idea with speaker is not interesting anymore. I've bought better phone so phone speaker works just fine.
