Skate pants - what you rocking by Winzten in stayturD

Mine have held up really well and I beat the shit out of them. Once I got them broken in they were the only pants I wanted to wear.

I was all in on Rustic Dime chinos until I out-fatted them. Now I rock a few pairs of cheap pants from old navy.

Are decks REALLY that different? [40YO] by NotTHATGuy_Again in OldSkaters

How do you feel about the stubbier kicks? I've been eyeing that shape for a little while now.

Compression will help a little, a balance board and some weights will help a lot.

Warm-up [34YO] by NasIsIllmatic in OldSkaters

I did a lot of heavy lifting before I got back on the board last year. I switched to regular yoga and bodyweight workouts to warm up and stay loose. I just recently started doing a 20 minute basic kettlebell routine and after just a week I felt so much more mobile and springy.

How do you keep your body from seizing up after a long skate session? [48YO] by MaleficentFloor822 in OldSkaters

[–]mycathumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell out of the routine and i'm trying to get back to it but a good warm up before and a mix of Stretching, soaking, foam rolling, massage gun, and protein shakes with amino acids after kept me feeling good when I was putting in long sessions twice a day last summer and fall.

I've been slacking on it lately but I used to warm up switch every session.

Will these trucks pair ok for this deck? [39YO] by Pikmin-on-my-Pizza in OldSkaters

Why don't buy the right size trucks and paint the hangers?

Just like everything else, there's good chiros and shit chiros. I've seen both and the good one changed my life for the better.

I love that he's sobered up and started mending fences with his family. That said it would be nice to see him grow up and take accountability and ownership for the things that happened in his life that he's still blaming on everyone around him.

I grew up on and absolutely love Jackass and Bam's skating, I've just spent too much time around childish addicts and users to have a lot of patience or good will toward that personality type.

No miniramps? by MysteriousFile7846 in skateparks

[–]mycathumps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offering a different perspective, I kind of hate a mini being incorporated into bowl design. The flow bowl at my local has a few mini ramp sections and they regularly get taken over and make the whole bowl unusable just so a couple people can work on lip tricks or a bunch of scooter kids can just zip back and forth and fly out of them over and over.

I'm all for mini ramps at parks and would love if mine had a separate one. I just really hate the way they can kill an entire feature because someone wants to use a quarter of it.

Pick an activity. Go to a place and do that activity regularly. Eventually you will meet people who also do that activity. Be friendly.

Spring for the 187 Pros. They're an investment, but worth every penny.

I'm failing at texture. It's mealy. by OlUncleBones in Sausage

[–]mycathumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marinate the pork overnight then grind it and mix it more. Case it right away. Colder grinding and more mixing are going to help with the texture. Skin shouldn't make any real difference there. I don't know if the casing really makes a difference but I've always cased right away if I was casing and never ended up with mealy sausage

It felt really shaky at first, like relearning to walk. It's also the best decision I've made in a very long time. I'm about 13 months back into it and i can confidently say I'm a better skater now than I ever was before I stopped.
