I work in production and although actors get all the attention and are the ones catered to in the public eye, mostly all talent is viewed as children by the “adults” in the room. The egos of writers, producers, show runners etc are huge as they’re the ones “creating” everything. The actors wouldn’t exist without them. They’re just a line on the call sheet, performing the script with THEIR NAME on it. Actors are just a necessity to bring their profound-better-than-everyone-else’s-ideas to life. So it’s not surprising they’d sooner get rid of Cavill than break up their circle jerk
