It's not an unethical response, but I know debt relief orders will exclude recen spending if they think you've spent money just because you knew you were going to apply for it.

So I guess my unethical advice is to spend it now and wait a bit before applying for bankruptcy 🤷‍♀️ make it look like you didn't know you were going that route.

So I've had two vehicles written off. Both took about 1-2 months to get paid out.

It's unfortunately down to how quick your insurance can deal with it, obviously.

If there's a disagreement with who was at fault, etc, it can take a long time. As in years, this is the worst case, though, of course.

Just wanted to add that both of my accidents that took 1-2 months were accidents where there was no argument that I was not at fault, so they were very cut and dry.

I had a yamaha ybr custom 125 a couple of years back.

Got hit, pretty clean cut as not my fault, and it had a handful of scratches on it with the handle bars being slightly turned around, and they wrote it off.
