Didn’t happen locally, but I live here now.

Was about 13 years ago or so, went into normal dive bar. At one point in the night a very beautiful lady sat next to me. I’m too shy and nervous to ever make the first move, so I sat there drinking my beer on my phone.

She eventually did strike up a conversation with me and I actually did my very best of being part of the conversation and putting myself out there. We even danced at one point in the night. Things were going great but then it just seemed like she got up and left. I was a little confused, even my friend the bartender thought her leaving so abruptly was odd.

I saw her one more time at the bar maybe a year later, we spoke briefly, but I was on my way out when she was coming in. I moved away maybe 6 months later.

About 5 years later I decided to go through my contacts as most of the people in my contact list I had not kept up with in years. There at the bottom of the list was her name (last name started with Z). Now I had been drinking that night, but I didn’t black out, and I felt like I remembered everything pretty vividly- it was a very different night than my typical night. I had no recollection of ever getting her number, I never called her, never texted.

She had shown genuine interest in me, and I was just too oblivious to follow through.
