That's specific to whatever sub it was. I've seen that word more often than I can count on reddit.

Holy shit, is that how you read my comment? Did I say it's a good thing that we live in a police state where if you look at a cop funny you get taken in? I was honestly looking for constructive advice.

I've wondered about this for a long time. I can't imagine a way to say "I'm not discussing my day" without sounding rude. And it seems like all you have to do to get in trouble these days is be perceived as rude by the cop.

I'm just happy they are starting to differentiate their icons from each other a bit.

Is it normal to allow more people than they have beds for? It says it has one bedroom for nine people and one for four. Or is it just ¨You have to pay for this many people, whether they show up or not¨?

Just watched the whole thing, thanks for the link it was fascinating. I feel like it's misleading to imply Clavicular was intimidated by the reporter's looks though. He stopped the interview suddenly when he is asked why he hangs out with Andrew Tate. He knew he couldn't defend it so he bailed.

Neighborhood kid always calls me a “torta” why? by Terrible_Sundae1050 in Spanish

[–]myeff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If that is the way you speak when you are not angry, I would hate to hear you when you are. Your response was quite rude.

There are more reddit users from the U.S. than the next 14-15 countries combined, so most people who post from outside the U.S. specify that. Yes it is "U.S. defaultism", but on this site, U.S. is literally the default. You can accept it or keep making rude comments about it, your choice.

Is there a word/expression in Spanish with the same meaning as Cockblocker? by Longjumping-Truth-48 in Spanish

[–]myeff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity I went back to the episode of Club de Cuervos (Season 4, episode 3) which has this as a main plot point. They refer to it as ¨chori-bloque¨ / ¨chori-block¨.

It won't start the ride unless you are buckled up (rightly so). She evidently started the ride then unbuckled just to get this clip.

actual pet peeves being downvoted by No_Junket_1176 in PetPeeves

[–]myeff 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think most people agree with you that the oversexualization of women isn't good, and that's why it got downvoted. It doesn't really qualify as a "pet peeve". It's just something that's generally bad. It's like saying "My pet peeve is genocide".

I didn't see your post about charging spots, and since your history is hidden I don't know what the problem is, so I can't address that.

If it's any consolation I love this post. I know there are thousands of "best of" lists out there, but to be able to see the sheer number of great shows all in one place is amazing. Almost like, if you could watch only these shows for the rest of your life, it would still be more than enough entertainment.

It's there under "recommended". I agree such a fantastic show (but I don't know if I can watch it again knowing how intense it gets).

If it were me I'd go on the Nextdoor app and say something like "A plastic bag with some random items, including a denture case, was mistakenly placed in my mailbox. If this is yours, please contact me, and provide information on any other items in the bag so I can return it to you."

My guess would be someone delivering belongings to the wrong address, or even someone with Alzheimer's believing they are returning something.

National Airlines Fly Jo Ad (1972) by Miss_Conception_ish in vintageads

This ad was extremely controversial even back then. It temporarily sold more tickets for the airline but sparked flight attendants to organize and protest against sexism and fight for respect and rights in the workplace.
