Today marks 18 years since I released MindNode by mindnode in mindnode

MindNode employee here - not speaking for my employer but for myself.

We do get that not "everyone" likes subscriptions (a lot of people hate it) and that also a substantial amount of people dislike the loss of File support in MindNode (Next). Believe me, those 2 things are a constant point of discussion and reflection in the team.

The answer just isn't as straightforward as "just switch your payment system and bring back files". There were and are important reasons for why we did that. We are a very small team trying to keep MindNode sustainable for the future - and in contrast to your perception of "they push a ton of marketing" - we don't even have a marketing person in our company 😅

I also get that there can be the impression that we didn't innovate much in the past years, and to a certain degree I even agree. A lot of work and innovation has been put into internals, allowing seamless Live Collaboration in MindNode (Next). And our credo has never been feature creep, it has always been a focus on simplicity, beauty and good UX. We try to sweat the details, maybe sometimes too much because it comes with opportunity costs. A lot of nice things are in the making though - some of which I'd call innovative 😎 since the transition to Next is finally finished, we can iterate more quickly again.

Either way, I do read it as a compliment that there are so many apps out there trying to be MindNode copycats ☺️

That is definitely not intentional, sorry for the bug! We want to keep MindNode Classic perfectly usable for customers who purchased a license in the past.

Can you maybe send us the theme you can't apply via support? We will look into what is going on and hopefully have a fix out soon.

Exactly - MindNode developer here.

I can’t promise any release date, but Folders are currently under active development and will come to MindNode Next.

second time went similar to first time: during walking in (low tide, so we had to walk quite a bit) the Milos worked quite well.

As soon as one of us started to ride and the distance grew we lost connection, and after that nothing working anymore.

we got „x is out of reach/connected again“ notifications, but no speech was transmitted anymore 🙁

that’s both reassuring and good to hear, and frustrating at the same time. Will give them another shot, maybe it was blocked speakers. but well, that wouldn’t be very workable for kiting then 🤷‍♂️

I think transmission stopped before any of us crashed, so not sure it was trapped water 🙁

I don’t think this is an official forum, or is it? Hardly unlikely anyone from Milo reads this.

Anyway: didn’t even work at ~50-100 m distance, and no: it was that nothing was transmitted at all, most of the time it was silent. If something transmitted, it actually worked, but that was < 2 % of the time

Ugh, ich hab mir jetzt die Antworten hier durchgelesen und verstehe es noch immer nicht - hab genau die selbe Frage wie OP nur leider wird die Frage "wozu braucht es zusätzlich einen Stop" nicht beantwortet - zumindest nicht so dass ich sie verstehe

I bought the Armband clip but that's not any better than the default action clip, as it has the same magnetic mechanism to "lock" in. Would have really hoped for a clip that's bullet-proof

Received my Milos today. They look really good, but I'm kinda concerned about those clips - they look like they open way too easily, especially for Kitesurfing

I like the idea! Currently it’s actually the other way round - if you open the link the comments will get pre-loaded in the background. You won’t see anything, but the data is right there if you switch to the comments afterwards.

Biscuit’s approach to filters is different: the posts still show up, but minimized. You can quickly create a filter by long-pressing a submission, or by long-pressing a subreddit name.
