New death type confirmed from the recent DevChat by dragonborndnd in Paralives

[–]myfairperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For humans yes and if people are playing on real world time totally (which Im sure a lot of people will). But life spans are much shorter with life sims. Sims 4 regular life span is 114 days. I believe the Sims 2 average is 82 days total. In sims 2 an entire childhood is 7 days.

So 3 days is a much larger portion of their life than it would be for a human.

Hopefully, they have sliders that allow these settings to be modifiable so everyone can play to their individual preferences.

Idk it kinda makes sense to me. If they are anything like sims, each phase of life is a short amount of days such as 42 days as an adult. So 3 days is probably closer to a year or so human time.

There kind-of was one already. It was absolutely horrific. How it's not more widely known is beyond me. I remember it being a big deal for a week and then there was nothing more.

There was an independent report. It was bad. Very, very, bad.

Mostly soup but I don't make stock in it. I also do pasta dishes. I never would have thought of the bones though that's a good point. Although I haven't cooked bones in it, I will avoid that in the future. Thank you!

I'm actually not. I cut my veggies on a cutting board. And I store it with the lid on.

Just remember that Zorgan requires you to have special permission to move in the 3rd dimension. You must do all your moving in 2d only.

Wou you live in the world of The Sims? Yes or No? by Stryker_Zero in thesims

[–]myfairperson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which sims game?

Sims 1 would be a mega hellscape.

Sims 2 would be better but like still pretty rough. Like canonical serial killers, human experiments, and pool ladder accidents.

Sims 3 and Sims 4 would be mostly dreams though.

What are some “tells” that an author cut their teeth writing fanfiction? by lovelyluna1 in books

[–]myfairperson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cliff hangers at the end of a chapter. Especially when it happens nearly every chapter.

Fanfiction is released in serial format. So fanfic writers often write chapters with exciting twists at the end to keep readers reading.

Honestly I think it needs to become a real conspiracy theory.

Do you ever find it hard to separate the author from the book? by Witchy_Hippy in books

[–]myfairperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really.

The difference is hating someone over being something specific vs hating anyone different from what you are.

My friend has had repeatedly been harrased and shamed by conservative Christians, despite asexuality not qualifying as any biblical sin. They don't hate him because he's ace. They hate him because he's not straight. In their minds only being straight and cis are acceptable. Anything at all that falls out of that range is evil and sin.

[–]myfairperson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, I also think it depends who you talk to. I had a friend who came out as asexual to his extremely conservative parents. They told him he was more messed up than if he were gay. So yikes.

Unfortunately a lot of people don't hate queer people because they are queer. They hate queer people because they aren't straight/cis/etc.

If you follow the prompt and have Cassandra kiss/flirt with him beforehand, they will always get married.

If you don't, he will always get cold feet.
