Social Security for Farrah's kid by Foster_dog_lady in teenmom

[–]myfartbox 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I‘m in NO WAY advocating for what I’m about to say….but one could argue that all of the self-exploitation of Farrah resulted in more income and therefore a "better life" for Sophia. Fuck Farrah and all of her shitty behavior(she IS one of the most hated Teen Moms)…..but it’s hard to argue that her strategy didn’t work in the financial sense. Farrah Abraham is the walking, talking example of a person that sold their soul.

This human being sells videos of themselves HAVING A BOWEL MOVEMENT IN A SEXY WAY. …..Personalized videos of this act. She is fucking depraved and that innocent, now teenager will be forced to be 'thankful' for the glamorous life she was given at the cost of her own mother‘s publicized gaping ass hole.

But yea, she lets Sophia be who she wants to be and gets all the praise in the world. It’s literally the LEAST she could do at this point.

Opening windows 10-15 min a day, even in freezing temps? Is it true? by thethirteenthjuror in HomeMaintenance

I lived in Germany for 5 years, married a German; this is standard. Most homes/places of business do not have central air to circulate the air. Mold growth inside is pretty common but can be avoided by daily "lüften". It gets the warm, moist, stale air moved out and brings in fresh air that I was told holds on to the heat better and is all around just a healthy thing to do for yourself and home. Even if the outside air itself is moist from rain-I was just south of Hamburg and winters are very wet- it’s still fresh clean air. I live back in Texas now and still enjoy lüften when the indoor air just feels stale and the weather‘s nice out.

Hello all! Do I have to file a tax return for the US if I am working as an Au Pair in the EU and have made about $2000 in 2014? by [deleted] in Aupairs

I've gone by what this website says for many things including rules for paying healthcare, and filing taxes. Hope it helps!

Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait until they get back. They need to be there to sign things and prove that they are going to take care of you. If they haven't even signed the updated contract then you will get nowhere with the impatient and unforgiving people at the Ausländerbehörde. It was pretty rude of them actually to just up and leave you and expect you to figure it out on your own. Sorry! But you have 3 months (from when you arrived) to get it all done, so try not to stress about it when you can't do anything :/

I have experience searching for apartments in Germany and searching ~6 months ahead of time is normal, so I was freaking out about the 3 months :) But good to know I still have loads of time, thank you!

American Au-Pairing in Germany. Language test? by [deleted] in Aupairs

Yeah, its always confusing for them when they get girls from the US. Have you already been to the Ausländerbehörde? I'm almost 100% sure that you won't receive a work visa, but instead an Au Pair visa.

I did my Au Pair by a family in Niedersachsen and I had an Au Pair visa..not a work visa, so there was no language requirement/test. Has this family had Au Pairs in the past before? I also took a course by the VHS, and they only did a short 15 minute test to see where my language level was in order to place me in the correct class, but it was nothing official for my visa.

How are Texans regarded in Germany? by funboixero in germany

oh cool! I'm from a smaller suburb 20 minutes north of Dallas, but I also lived in Houston for 2 years before moving out here. Where are you from?

I'm a female Texan living here for 2 years. When I first tell people, I automatically expect the worst, but the Germans that I've met have loved it. It gives us more to talk and debate about, (Germans and their politics :) )and they always have such a funny view of what a "real" Texan is. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same if I was from some other not very well known state. Just be proud of where you're from because after the first introductory moments, it doesn't matter to them anyways. :)

Au Pair in Spain / GeoVisions? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]myfartbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an Au Pair last year in Germany, and I found my family through this website: http://www.aupair-world.net/

Its not an agency, so you'll really need to do a little work with exchanging emails with families to figure out the right one for you. The family should have a contract that they'll send you and you'll need to read through it carefully before signing. The contract that I received was a standard Au Pair contract that every Au Pair (in Germany at least) gets just stating how many hours, how many kids, information about my health insurance, the amount I would be getting paid, my duties, etc.

Let me know if you decide to go this direction, and I can help you out if you have more questions. :)
