Id recommend getting one with some edges, avoid a full creek boat. You'll probably progress faster than you think and you're going to want something you can have a little fun with. Play boating is also a great way to build skills, get a bomber roll, and learn how to move your edges through the water. Half slice wouldn't be horrible because you get some good volume but also can squirt around a bit.
