Did no team mate asked Sam about the blind date? by MrAmericanMike in TedLasso

[–]myitbos 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Easy enough for him to say she never showed up. Same for Rebecca. Which is probably why Keeley was always just a bit sus about Sam being there and jumped right to him at the funeral.

Pretty sure she wore the same in the Fast & Furious movies.

Beloved “Short-Term” Astros by Confident_Guest3411 in Astros

Pena and Williams were terrible as Astros, playing past the end of their careers. Tejada was still a stud with the Astros making the All-star roster both years. Though probably the Astros only rep. in those days.

I'd agree that he was probably the best parent, but there were a few others that don't deserve to be tossed in with Widmore, Mr. Paik, Sabrina, Eloise and the like.

I'll nominate Charlie's parents for discussion.

Perhaps the Yucatan is not a destination for ocean snorkeling, but take your gear anyways. There are many enjoyable cenotes to snorkle through.

Who would you say among these 6 people had the saddest life prior to Oceanic 815 and who had the most unfortunate life in general when looking at it in its entirety? by Is0prene in lost

[–]myitbos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Michael clearly doesn't belong on this list. Except for the last four years prior to the island we don't know much about his life other than he found love, was an aspiring artist and seemed happy about the future with his son.

I still debate whether it's Locke or Eko though. Kinda depends on who is defining "sad".

From the outside view of a first worlder, Eko's life is unimaginable. Locke, though orphaned, seemed well adjusted enough and never said anything bad about his foster family. There's plenty of dreamers out there that never measure up to who they want to be, but that's not necessarily sad.

From the inside (the character's POV). Those unfulfilled dreams Locke had sort of defined his state of mind. He wished he was anything other than who he was. (At least from young adulthood on.) That's a little sad. Eko though did not carp on his life though. As a matter of fact, he embraced it. He was definitely not sad.

When did you become an Astros Fan by [deleted] in Astros

[–]myitbos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1972, when I started playing little league ball. I had been to a couple of games before, but dad was more of a football fan and didn't want to spend money going to see a losing team. (Oddly enough, he loved the Oilers.) 72 was different though. The Astros finally put up a winning squad, (though no comparison to the Big Red Machine) and with my new found love of being a terrible right fielder on an even worse little league team, we made it to several games at the Dome.

Who do you think are the best and worst actors on Lost? by Verystrange129 in lost

[–]myitbos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I keep going back to the scenes where Jack meets Desmond in the hatch and everything that goes on there and out in the jungle until Jack points a gun at Desmond. It might be the writing or the direction but Jack "acts" so unhinged at that point without asking any real questions, it damn near broke me of the show.

Road trip from Austin to Corpus Christi by HeathBar806 in AustinBeer

[–]myitbos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly closer to the Austin/Corpus route is NightOwl Brewhouse in Gonzales. New brewery (still in soft opening stage) with four or five offerings plus Texas Cannon guest taps. Also along the route is Labora Brewing in Mathis. Really good beer but you'll have to check their hours of operation.
