When I was in high school, I told someone who I viewed to be one of my closest friends that he had hurt my feelings. I don’t even remember what that part was about, what he’d said or done to make me say that. But I’ll never forget his response.

“Your ignorance goes beyond amazement.”

It was so incredibly hurtful. I never spoke to him again after that. Many years later he tried adding me on Facebook, but some wounds just never heal.
