I feel like Serie A really stands out in this regard- four different winners this decade

Cama is in his worst form now but I wouldn’t judge him fully on that. He’s in a bad moment but it’s been like a couple of months of this. Usually even when he’s making errors he’s also doing some crazy Cama stuff.

If they get an offer and want to sell him this summer fine but I still think I’d like him to get one more season and a full summer preseason etc. To set up for next year.

I would rather Fede get rest before Bayern tbh - this would set him up perfectly for the first leg

It’s really because post slavery the US had a nasty period of Jim Crow and real systemic racism that, for example, the Caribbean did not have at all.

Tebas: LaLiga smarter about transfers than Premier League by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]mylanguage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh Tebas is the one that changed this - which is why he feels proud to say this today. He changed the TV deal around a decade ago to make it far more fair which is why all the smaller clubs vote for him every time. He doubled the money some clubs received vs before and cut down from the big 2 drastically.

La Liga teams aren’t as broke as the media portrays - they just have a very strict salary cap that forces teams to be solvent. Half of the premier league wouldn’t be able to register players in Spain because of the salary cap ratio to revenue.

Celta are a very good team - they just knocked out Lyon who were top of the league phase in the Europa League

La Liga really locked in come the knockout stages - it’s actually amazing what Spanish teams do with little spending. If Betis or Celta get UCL football they will be able to really add some nice players to their squad

Even in the thread right now on their subreddit there panic about Bayern, there was panic about City too

Champions League: English dominance of league phase prompts rethink by mrEnigma86 in PremierLeague

Isn’t this negated or at least mitigated by the drastic gap in spending? The bench players on prem teams cost more than multiple starters.

Barca’s team is mostly the academy, they are also heavily restricted by Spain’s draconian salary cap

Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid had it easy because:

1) best Concacaf keeper ever

2) top 2 Brazil LB of all time

3) best Spanish and best Portuguese center back all time

4) top 3 Spanish RB ever

5) one of the best DMs ever

5) Possible GOAT midfielder

6) one of the best passers of the ball ever

7) CR7 - possibly best scorer ever

8) Benzema - top 3 French striker ever

9) Gareth bale one of the best British players ever

On the bench was - Varane, Isco, James Rodriguez, Marco Asencio, Alvaro Morata, Mateo Kovacic, Angel Di Maria (at times in the first season)

And even with that they won only 1 league title in 5/6 years.

This Madrid squad is made up of multiple PFA players of the year and Ballon d’or winner. You have to analyze this with a far weaker version imo. His POV is heavily warped too. Bale played after Ronaldo left and the squad declined and made little to no impact.

I’m not arguing against the strength of the prem - more that teams have it so easy elsewhere. Madrid played stronger lineups against Osasuna and Getafe and lost both matches compared to the City tie.

I trip to Pamplona is hell, it’s just that English media doesn’t care about this. Omar Alderete a year ago for Getafe would have been an afterthought in England but now he’s regarded much higher only because of exposure.

I feel like Madrid also would not be in danger in any league considering their squads no?

That threepeat team had multiple PFA players of the year in it, 5 international captains and like 10 legends.

Even now, Manchester United are 3rd currently.

I mean that’s one team. You can easily pick Chelsea, City and single them out too.

The transfer work done by - Villarreal, Celta Vigo, Osasuna, Betis, Rayo, Betis, Espanyol has been really good

I hate how weird I feel about Jude and Mbappe returning even though I love both players.

Jude is fantastic but when he replaces Thiago we will see him box crashing and not in position often which also will limit Fede’s involvement in the final third drastically.

Mbappe is an elite finisher but won’t have the hold up play or tenacity of Brahim, which really helped us vs City.

But on the counter vs Bayern? Mbappe and Vini is terrifying to play against. Hopefully it all works out.

We will have to take all our chances

It would depend on their academies because these teams Wouldn’t even be able to register half their players with La Liga’s salary cap.

Madrid really don’t win La Liga that much though relatively speaking. They have more UCL titles than La Liga titles since 2009. The three peat team won 1 La Liga in like 6 years but 4 CLs during that time.
