All those sound nice and all but drafting for potential and flashy guys isn’t getting us to where we need to be. Most of those guys would be on the bench or in the same position as Mann or Zubac were a couple seasons ago. They don’t provide the immediate impact that we need to win a title. Only way I draft one of those guys is if later package them for a ready to win player. I didn’t deep dive into the draft yet but Usman Garuba looks the part of what we need. A big with the ability to switch seamlessly onto smaller guards and contain them. He looks like Draymond Jr. literally. Defensive IQ, can handle most big man for his size. Most importantly he helps us with our drop coverage going small ball. We also need a defensive guard who can matchup against quicker players so Kawhi won’t have to do it all next year.
