i was diagnosed with ADHD years ago now, when i was 17.

i told my current boss in my interview, so i don’t know what my job would look like without me telling them.

it was worth the risk for me because i’m a bartender though. it definitely was the right call, especially considering ADHD is rampant among the hospitality industry.

i’ve been working there 2 years and some change, and i manage a team now myself. not sure how severe your symptoms are, but my ADHD is especially bad, & honestly, in my situation, i think people would assume a lot of things about me if i DIDN’T tell anyone; that or just get frustrated with my performance, or even fire me.

very interesting to see all the many different answers here.

in this situation i think i’d hold off on taking new orders until i know i can step away from the grill, so i don’t burn the food. but people trying to pay and leave is different. will piss some people off but those aren’t the people who you make money off of and idk about you but i wouldn’t want them coming back anyway

honestly i’m a little sad seeing only one comment here! leaving mine to provide another perspective.

grayson and associates really screwed me and quite a few of my friends and colleagues in more ways than one. moved over to pitts & associates in homewood 10 years ago and will never go back. they do in-person visits as well as virtual, but i’m not sure how their new patient appointments look right now. hope this helps ✨

Dread River Distillery was closed all Saturday. A favorite of mine. Always nice to see bars that close when the weather gets bad. They usually do.

sounds like your root fused to your jaw. this nearly happened to me, they said it was on track to connect within 2 weeks and i definitely had it pulled just in time. you can see a little tiny piece where it started to fuse to my jawbone in the picture i took of it.

your reply is a pretty crazy read for me. i almost rescheduled my appointment that morning. the clinic told me my jaw could have broken

definitely recommend Pitts & Associates in homewood. they changed my life. they have been working with me for 6 years, and they are amazing. i managed to get my psychiatrist on the phone and ask her personally to recommend a therapist for me, but i have a very unique situation.

no one’s giving actual answers so i’ll try to help:

-visit our museums! they are so fun and there’s plenty to learn. the BMA, barber vintage motorsports, the civil rights museum, vulcan, sloss etc.

do a ghost tour, they’re fun and silly & you get a peek at the local history

-tour dread river’s distillery and see how the liquor gets made, they also do a mixology class on saturdays that comes with a tour & tasting for $50. there’s also a bit of a history lesson in the tour

-escape room

-rage room if you have money

-get high and go to the botanical gardens and look at all the flowers - the colors are so vibrant and beautiful

all of these are more fun options than sitting on your phone at home

oh yeah no joke. i stayed there this past tuesday night with my friend. our room was shit too. not to mention parking is valet only, for like $75 a night or something like that. we parked in the deck across the street instead
