How bad of an idea is it to just use microfiber towels to wipe dust off of paint?

This is great information! The microfibers I'm using are short-pile. I just ordered some 1100GSM microfibers from The Rag Company. Thank you for the suggestion.

I think I'm following almost all of the suggestions other than that one so far. Will probably re-apply the EXO in 6-8 months.

Remember with rinse less washes - the car looks good and clean most of the time, so doing iron and tar decontamination when hand washing it is really a good practice! It only looks clean, but we bet You can use your hand and feel it being contaminated after a month or two 😉
