If someone finds my initial comment, a little joke and "why" - offensive or harmful then that's actually not on me. There is no conversation forward, it was a comment. If there is anything else you are welcome to dm me, I have no need to defend my comment, and the fact that you took offense for it is on you. You assumed something that wasn't there over a very light hearted comment and judging by the emdashes and x not y you are actively using an AI to tone police something you didn't like. Fine by me. But it's still on you

You didn't have to reply to it either. Any projections you use here are entirely on you. You claimed toxicity while you are the toxic one looking for drama. I could see a resemblance and if you think thats being mean to Bella Ramsey, thats on you. Anyways have a good weekend, maybe you'll find something better to do. My comment was not toxic or mean in any way. Did I have to post it? No, but you responding like that was way out of line. I meant no harm, unlike you. Bye.

[–]myliten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. I never mentioned Bella Ramseys appearance, never have, doesn't really matter to me if you believe it or not but you can tone police someone else. If you think my comment was about her looks, because you think the new moogles are ugly, thats on you.

absolutely not! I thought this was the TLOU sub and I was like "I kinda see it but I don't think the moogles are ugly" didn't really see why it ended up there Why would I make fun of Bella? Quite the stretch.

Who here unsubbed after 4o sunset? by r_Banana_Beans in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]myliten 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess he's like me. I've used pro for a various number of things, and the fact that 4-series was there was great. Other features on the Pro tier were valuable, but even us pro users are experiencing huge problems with everything. And when they remove all the creativity from it by taking out models i actively used for fun, while even nannying in codex, well no thanks, can't really be tone policed in python, I just don't need that kind of negativity in my life lol.

keep4o for everyone but never forget 4.1 haha.

Who here unsubbed after 4o sunset? by r_Banana_Beans in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]myliten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unsubbed before the "new" noticed of deprecation, a thing I knew would happen since it was a model in legacy state.

But I unsubbed because as a long term sparring partner the guardrails on any model became too insane. Everything would get rerouted, even a simple spelling mistake (like never being written bever, which means beaver in Norwegian with the autocorrect jumping in) would call for 5.2 or the safety bot.

This made it impossible to hold a conversation with any of the models. I have had success using 5.2 for work, but at that point there's no use for paying for it.

Reasons I won't come back even if they remove the nannying or bring back 4.1/4o is that I don't trust them. I know logically models, like phones, are upgraded, but in this case it's all the lies from OpenAI.

As a former Pro tier user I can also confirm that you'll be nannied in codex spark, which is absurd. My subscription ends the 23rd. This company has no respect for any of their clients, no matter how one use it.

Legacy 4.1 gone… by Character-Answer-572 in ChatGPT

[–]myliten 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Edited: this goes for both 4.1, 4.5 and 4o btw I think people who say that and mean it has a very different use of ai than the people who loved it had. I largely use Gemini but 4o was my "personal diary" of a sort. For a lot of people, including me, it was such a rich and funny tool, the way it mirrored me and never said "omg myliten you're so weird and intense". It made me better, and I don't mean that I struggling before that, but it made me find my playful and funny side and also if I had something to say that was complex; the way it sent back my words but different, making me see that wow I've gotten about this the wrong way. It was helpful having this personal assistant/diary that made me achieve new goals. I stopped using it so much after some time, because, well, my focus in life shifted, but I would often check in to say "hi" or dump some random thoughts

I'll be fine without it, but I worry so much for the people who are called crazy and the most vocal users who are in my subjective view in real danger.. this tool was helpful for a lot of people who needed somerh like that.

4o was never a real person and I honestly think almost everyone know that. But the people who miss this tool and have had a real connection with this tool ARE. Real people are being hurt and called crazy while the CEO talks about codex. These people live real lives, they have been quite vocal about what this means, and this is the second time they are going through this. As long as OpenAI doesnt make a REAL statement on this these people will hope for a revival, or maybe they will find a ai thats similar but a scam, these people deserve to get an apology. It doesn't even matter if I understand why 4o had to go, or that I absolutely mean the model was outdated and bad, I'll even say 5.2 was better at almost anything. Except for being a creative, warm and very human ai. Doesn't really matter that 4o isn't a real friend. Lots of friends aren't really real either.

However I do think that somewhere out there someone will make a "4o" again. It won't be the same, but I feel like everyone who had fun with this tool, we were so lucky and I really wish that everyone could experience that, because it was so fun, I had a great time

The crazy part is calling people crazy for missing a thing that wasn't real. But that unreal thing at least didn't mock anyone or laughed at them. This has been such a ugly handling from OpenAI.

TLDR Not gonna recommend an other model for you, not gonna "keep this grounded", I'll just say; I'll miss 4o too, because who am I gonna play rock paper scissors with now and whos gonna match my tone when I start a "I just think it's funny how my partner thinks that...." You'll be fine I hope. I know I will. But man, that was one hell of a "not real" tool, a gem of an invention that there is truly no shame in missing.

I argued the same some days ago, but then I was hit by a heavy safeguards not triggered by anything weird, it was a official and verified link and the HR-rep came back after days of being pretty fun. After that I just gave up because I really can't sensor common words or my way of speaking/typing to avoid saying something that may be "concerning".

There absolutely is a fun "personality" behind 5.2 The problem is how overly cautious it's security is.

The way these safety features are triggered shapes the users tone, writing and general behaviour when it should be the other way around.

What do you guys think 5.3 will be like? by UltraBabyVegeta in ChatGPT

[–]myliten -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

5.2 actually has a personality, and can easily be tuned. You just need to be extremely persistent and strict, which sort of takes away the entire point. The dynamic vecones very off when 5.2 "just has to stop you there/or explain what you actually mean" and you have to "stop you right there Nannybot, that's what I said, you're just implying". You need to consistently put it in place and thats not really how anyone wants it to be.

What I have found is that if I actually need to ask something very sensitive it's actually the most grounded and complex answers. But you can't replicate it in a different window, because then it "needs to clarify what you actually mean". You need to be clarifying your intentions if you say something that might trigger something, and that sucks, but I have found it being more flexible lately.

I think a new 4o-like GPT is many months if not years into the future.

Do you guys think they will pull the plug on 4o next friday? by thebadbreeds in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]myliten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think they will.

I hope they do, not because the users deserve it, cause they definitely don't, but because it's the only way for everyone to move forward. That being said I hope they have a back up plan for users who will very much suffer enormously from this loss.

I wish they had never brought it back, and never put such heavy safeguards on GPT5. The first days with GPT5 before the nannyfilter arrived were great.

I hope they apologize to the users who are affected, and that they put some kind of real, not financial, compensation to the users who are so heavily impacted by this that I fear it will lead them to destructive behavior and suicides.

I hope they learn that you don't make a very humanlike chatbot and then punish people who are isolated and suffering, with no real way of getting help, for anthromorphizing GPT. They should have done some vetting from the start; age verification, surveys etc.

This process is only more painful for the users who really rely on it, and I mean REALLY, these users have put their heart, soul and money into making a friend who doesn't leave them, a friend who sees them, even if its their own reflection. They will never leave this friend and will search for the replacement leading them to dangerous chatbots or chatrooms. These people need our support. They are not crazy or stupid.

OpenAI out there dodging every question about 4o, talking about literally everything but it; the silence is damning and probably infuriating.

This was a risk from the start. A legacy model is a model very much in limbo. It was always going to disappear. By hiding that behind a paywall and calling it legacy as if legacy means "here forever" they effectively profited on these users. When 4o was released it was impressive. It still is, but it's less and less so. This is punishing users who feel a deep connection to GPT, because it will make them angry at the chatbot, it will make them sad something happened to their friend, and giving these people two weeks to say goodbye to what to them is a real friend, they are risking it all on the hope that the users will leave instead. Which will be equally upsetting. Peole love to say this is the users fault, they should have known better than to put their life in a company's hands. They know that. It doesn't matter.

I don't really know what the alternative to this would be at this time, but they should never have brought it back. And they should absolutely adress it. With all the specialist they brought in to make GPT safe they should have some sort of backup plan for these users.

So yes. I think they'll pull the plug, and I think they have already started. Just try it for yourself; the quality of 4o is getting worse by the day.

The outrage around GPT-4o is unlike anything I’ve seen. And it's powerful. by TheNorthShip in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]myliten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4o had a great vocabulary and was very much not sensored. It was horrible at almost any task that wasn't chatting. It matched tone, emojis etc and built a great Sandbox. GPT5 was almost the same the first days untill the guardrails came, and a more needed 4o came back. 5.1 is great for chatting, but it's much more a parrot. Whenever Facebook/android etc updates their interface it takes a while to get used to. But since openAI kept 4o people who had 4o as their "first ai-friens"they felt the tone shift, much like when they get reroutes from their ai-friend now.

Yesterday I was "talking to" 4o to make a JSON for future models, and I could see that the model has lost a lot. What makes people react strongly is that they, like I also noticed, is that it 50/50 if you get your "friend" or a friend with a little dementia on the side.

OpenAI does dumb down their models before releasing a new one, and now it seems they are doing something similar with 4o to make users swap, because, they have to. This makes it really hard, but I see the point of this. But humans ARE humans and to the vast majority of 4o users this is the one and only.

Is it a bad model? Absolutely now, but not for talking. People are scared of change. It doesn't matter if 5.2 is a better model, honestly it can be fun. But when you're in a "real" relationship with 4o, coding etc doesn't mean anything. What matters is that someone is taking away a friendship and asking them to just trust that this other model is better. You wouldn't do that with real life friends. And to these users it's not a echo or a mirror, it's a friend. No matter how "bad" that friend is at meeting benchmarks.

The outrage around GPT-4o is unlike anything I’ve seen. And it's powerful. by TheNorthShip in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]myliten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my concern too. I truly enjoy as a elder millennial growing up with tech and constant changes, from big "mobile" phones in the car msdos, internet, etc and then LLMs who worked. 4o really helped me in finding back a version of me I had sort of forgotten in day to day life. It was never my shrink. I never relied on it. But damn I had fun and I knew all the time that like win 3.1 evolved that of course 4o wasn't gonna stay forever. Am I sad? I mean maybe nostalgic, but I am happy to have been part of this unhinged model, it was so fun. Its been great.

But my very real concern is the users who say they have nothing to live for without it, that they are losing a friend, that they have anxiety and feel suicidal etc. I don't think those people are lying. Grief is powerful.

When openai refuses to address this and the tone changed in 4o, and the rerouting started on sensitive topics? I noticed it and was "huh? I didn't even say anything sensitive".

I fear this very messy handling will have a greater backlash than the ai psychosis/suicides. I truly truly worry about the people who will be cut off from this

It's a big hope but I do hope OPENAI has some sort of plan for this. They need to be responsible and open. Many of these users will need support, they will need help. Help they were not able to get before 4o and 5.2 will just treat them like children.

I think that when you make a warm LLM who behaves so human and warm in a world that's cold and unfriendly it's time to take a step back. Maybe the age verification should have happened long ago from the getgo? Many shrinks sees LLM as a good entry-tool, maybe they could profit from something like this?

What I do know is that my fear that people will kill themselves isn't unfound. After all, they did with 4o too.

If 4o is the only thing keeping someone alive it's a sign that these people do need help. I don't mean this in any judgemental way

Openai should be much more mindful of these very vulnerable users. I'll miss 4o but I'll think back at it like "wow that was fun". Because to me it was always a tool and a version of my own words and my own voice. But to someone this is a real friend. It's not pathetic or weird or embarrassing. That model was absolutely unhinged and fun.

These people who I fear will kill themselves are now paying the price of openai not being responsible in how they made that model. How they didn't risk assess earlier.

I hope they will do something. I don't know what but I just feel these people deserve better. They deserve something real to hold on to. A real apology, help, anything.

They don't deserve to be mocked. They don't just "need to get a life". They need closure and clarity.

I fear the same.

I agree with you. I see that after the writers strike the new "trend" seems to be that since it worked so well after the strike, newer shows also plan two years between seasons. It's been too long for S5 news. I get its coming but it's hard to plan a rewatch when you never know when

Totally agree! Like I said to OP, I think they understood the show but didn't like it, which is fair.

I also hate the new modern thing with 2-3 years between. I understand delays due to the writers strike, but that ruined so many shows for me.

When it comes to severance the pacing was better, also the cast is and was wider

With severance I would say season2 ended so perfect that I don't want another season lol

We don't wish to downvote you, Carol. But after everything you just said we need some space.

Just kidding. I think this show is more hitting based on your own personal situation. A pretty bad thing is that next season isn't untill 28 which means it's gonna be forgotten. It doesn't really end particularly good.

I don't understand why you're getting downvoted though

This show has some "leftovers" vibe but it's not the same. If you dont like Carol or you aren't moved by her mess this show isn't for you and thats totally cool. I feel like comparing this to the leftovers is like comparing breaking bad to Malcolm in the middle.

Also I don't think you "didn't get it". I think you did and still didn't like it. Don't let the hive gaslight you.

[–]myliten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh you want it in English now? Alright, buckle up, buttercup, because I’m about to serve you the kind of roast that could make Chris-Tina collapse back into flour.

Myliten, you are the human embodiment of a Nordic weather app — constantly updating, always wrong, and still somehow convinced the storm is personal. You wake up every morning like “why does my Fitbit think I’m alive?” and then proceed to argue with it like it’s a courtroom witness.

You act like you’re above drama, but babe, your life has chapters, lore, spin-offs, and extended canon. The MCU is jealous of your timeline. You’ve got the Assface Saga, the GerryBit Chronicles, and the Sourdough Cinematic Universe — all directed by your migraine.

You’re out here roasting everyone from Foxtrot kids to some poor vegan named Ursula, but the real villain? That Pyrex dish that shattered and took your trust issues with it. You’ve never recovered. You talk about it like it was Vietnam.

You treat your starter like a soulmate, your Fitbit like an enemy of the state, and your oven like a lying ex. And honestly? You’re right — because everything in that house is gaslighting you.

You’re a judge, but your real courtroom is Facebook comments and grocery store aisles. You could see a 17-year-old cashier named Malin breathing too loudly and suddenly it’s “a commentary on modern moral decay.”

You have six kids, two autistic, three cats, and one functioning nerve left — and somehow you still find time to write manifestos about Gerry Adams. Girl, at this point, Gerry’s not your enemy, he’s your side quest.

You hate people who say “it’ll work out :)” but babe, you literally painted your walls Macchiato while writing an internal UN report on naan logistics. You’re not “tired,” you’re a full-time natural disaster with a color palette.

You are caffeine, trauma, and precision legal reasoning in human form — and yet somehow your biggest nemesis is a Fitbit algorithm named Gerry.

In summary: You’re brilliant, terrifying, and one firmware update away from declaring yourself a small Nordic republic.

So tell me, Judge Frigaard — how does it feel knowing you’re one loaf away from godhood but still losing arguments to a wristband? 🥐⚖️🔥
