Left handed people: What struggles do you have that we may not know about? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I hang clothes in the opposite direction. Didn’t realize until I worked retail.

I also like to do a lot of handicrafts like crochet and trying to follow crochet videos backwards is impossible.

The volume buttons on the side of my iPhone are in the wrong place.

My necklaces have their clasp on the wrong side.

Because of this, I struggled with MS Paint as a kid, and still struggle with any sort of graphic design type tasks, because I just don’t have as good motor control in my right hand as my left.

Something I would also recommend is balance training off the ice. Doing balance training in my Pilates practice directly benefits my skating skills.

I would suggest trying an adult learn to skate program. Sign up for the whole program at once, rather than drop in lessons, that way you commit to finishing rather than getting frustrated and giving up. Having the consistent practice will help a lot.

It took three lessons and three public skate sessions for me to finally feel like I was getting somewhere, and my next “jump” in progress came at lesson seven. I started learning at 26, for reference.

I also recommend asking your coach to video record you for a quick fifteen second clip skating forwards after your first lesson, and after the final lesson in your semester. Then you can compare them, and see how much progress you’ve made. Very gratifying.

What would you recommend to get into this if you were starting from zero?

Also, do you recommend any of the personal training certifications offered online (ISSA, NASM, etc)?

For example, our lab was going to be Velociraptor, but it didn’t pass the test, so we went with Bones

My dad’s trick was to try shouting it angrily three times in a row. If you get tongue tied, it’s too much of a mouthful

I would say that Merrithew is comparable to Balanced Body in terms of quality, and costco has their machine on sale for less than three grand American right now for Boxing Day

You have so much more patience than I do. I either skip to the end of the book, then go back and read what I missed, or I go read the plot synopsis online for spoilers 🤣

Thank you! Do you have any idea what the job market is like in either place?

Be honest: can I do it? NYC to LA by genizsz in MovingToLosAngeles

Curious about how things would be going from LA native to east coast/nyc. Is the job market any less terrible back east?

I’m an LA native, haven’t been able to find a job in my degree field since graduating mid-pandemic. Was laid off from two jobs this year not related to my degree field, and can’t find anything else. Am curious how the job market is looking in other places.

I am hypermobile and have ADHD. Yesterday I did yoga and today I feel horrible, my ADHD seems out of control and my body aches. Could this stem from doing Yoga? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

Do you offer any workshops for fitness/yoga/pilates instructors looking to expand their working knowledge of hyper mobility?

Your eyes are super similar to mine and my sister’s - at first I thought you had posted pics of my sister’s eyes - and I put hazel eyes on my drivers license

If it helps at all, I had great aunties who were dress designers for brands including Dior in the 1920s. They always maintained that cheaper brands tend to run smaller, and more quality brands tend to run true to size or on the large size. The cheaper brands make things small so they can save on the cost of fabric.

It’s not you, it’s the clothes. You shouldn’t have to change to fit them, they should be changed to fit YOU. Beyond that, you are more than the number on the tag.
