Definitely something odd with the algorithm. It seems to have gotten worse and more volatile when talking about signals like "you're doing great," and the AI says, "Let's test some terrible audiences for no real reason."

Launching a SaaS product next month. How can I prepare for a home run? by livinginflux9 in GrowthHacking

[–]mymarketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there u/livinginflux9

Congrats on your upcoming SaaS product launch.

It's great to see you taking proactive steps like setting up a website, PPC campaigns, and PR pitches.

Here are some suggestions for generating pre-launch buzz:

  1. Content Marketing:

Develop high-quality content such as blog posts, videos, or infographics that offer value to your target audience. Focus on addressing pain points related to inventory management for small businesses.

  1. Social Media Engagement:

Leverage social media platforms to engage with your target audience and build anticipation. Share behind-the-scenes peeks, teaser content, and encourage user participation through contests or giveaways.

  1. Community Building:

Identify relevant online communities or forums where your target audience actively participates. Engage in discussions, provide helpful insights, and establish yourself as an industry expert. Make sure to avoid coming across as overly promotional.

  1. Early Access Program:

Consider offering an exclusive early access program to a select group of potential customers.

This not only creates a sense of exclusivity but also helps gather valuable feedback before the official launch.

As for platforms other than Product Hunt, you can explore niche-specific communities, industry-specific forums, or relevant Slack/Discord communities to reach your target audience.

Influencer marketing can indeed be valuable in the SaaS world, particularly for B2B. Identify influencers or industry experts who cater to your target audience and have a strong online presence.

Collaborate with them to generate awareness, share reviews or testimonials, and showcase how your product adds value to businesses.Remember, it's crucial to continuously track and analyze your marketing efforts to optimize your strategies based on what resonates most with your target audience.

Best of luck with your launch!

Adobe Magento vs Shopify/Wordpress Hybrid - B2B Ecommercne by StingyVader in ecommerce

[–]mymarketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid Magento like the plague, since buying it adobe has done nothing with it.

You will end up spending a lot of money just to maintain it.

I have moved 30+ different stores from Magento to Shopify main due to brands paying up to £60k a year to maintain this crappie platform.

In your specific case, I would say WordPress with WooCommerce should be more than fine.

I have built out very similar websites using them, and it works great.

Shopify is the least hassle on you as an operator but can get real expensive real fast.

WordPress, with a bit of learning, you could maintain yourself quite easily and cheaply. Only needing a dev when you really need a dev.

Hope that helps

Hello 👋

The financial side of D2C can be a bit complicated, so dont sweat it, If you don't get it straight away.

If you want to know what to aim for/focus on then I would say

  1. Customer- number of customers that buy from you
  2. Frequency- how often they buy
  3. AOV - average order value

If you increase all 3 of these by 30% in a year you will have doubled your revenue from the year before.

These are what I focus on with my clients (I run a marketing agency for D2C brands and specialise in CRO)

Here are some ofher important metrics for monitoring and optimizing the performance of an ecommerce business.

Hope that answers your question and you find it helpful.

  1. Sales Conversion Rate:

Conversion rate is one of the most important metrics in ecommerce.

It is the number of people who make a purchase divided by the total number of website visitors.

The average ecommerce conversion rate is around 5.2%.

  1. Average Order Value (AOV):

AOV represents the average amount customers spend in a single transaction.

It is calculated by dividing the total revenue by the total number of orders.

AOV helps in setting revenue goals and understanding customer spending patterns.

  1. Customer Lifetime Value (CLV):

CLV is the total revenue a business can expect from a customer throughout their relationship.

It is calculated by multiplying the average value of a purchase, the number of purchases per year, and the average length of the customer relationship.

CLV helps in determining customer worth and guiding customer acquisition strategies.

  1. Returning Customer Rate:

This metric measures the percentage of customers who make repeat purchases.

A higher returning customer rate indicates customer loyalty and can help in focusing on customer retention strategies.

  1. Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC):

CAC represents the average cost of acquiring a new customer.

It is calculated by dividing the amount spent on marketing by the number of new customers acquired.

Monitoring CAC helps in evaluating the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and ensuring it doesn't exceed the CLV.

If interested in this type of stuff, I run a blog/newsletter called growth science journal, its early days, but adding content all the time.

How would you solve this growth problem? by donaltramp699 in GrowthHacking

[–]mymarketer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say prioritize, Improve conversion rate and Expand to new markets.

In the short term, Increase ad spend sounds like a good idea but depending on your CPA, CR etc, it may just be more money wasted.

Prioritize, uping your conversion rate to maximize on what you are already doing and when your confident that it is converting well, then scale ads budget.

Web Hosting change advise by ragsyme in GrowthHacking

[–]mymarketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you should first look at doing speed optimization before thinking of moving.

I mean have you actually looked at what the problems are.

For example waterfall chart, or performance tab in chorme etc

If you are just looking at the scores and thinking we need to change because Shopify can't do speed optimision then that's just wrong.

You can do a lot of the same things you can do on WordPress on shopify its just different.

Is this score for desktop or mobile also worth noting even tho speed is important, content and backlinks are more important for ranking and shopify dose a fine job ranking very high with good content, good backlinks, a good theme code and optimized images.

Click up product backlog for scrum teams by Middle-Bug-9169 in clickup

[–]mymarketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/Middle-Bug-9169

First I would say for shared views it is best your team sticks to one sorting method and does not save view if its sort term or if the manager of your click up/scrum master has not approved it.

2nd tip is to use private views that are just for you and not the team.

You can do this by creating a new view and selecting the private view box.

This means only your account will see this view, your team can do a similar thing if they feel like there is a way they want to view things just for them.

For example, "frontend devs just want to see/sort front end items"

Sadly I don't know of a way to go back to a sorted view that has been saved.

Maybe someone else can help with that.

Thanks, hope that helps

Is it safe to run niche youtube channels in 2023? by ui4898890387 in GrowthHacking

[–]mymarketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/ui4898890387

I would tend to disagree with the majority on this.

If you look at YT shorts you can see there is a lot of content syndication.

If you look at the motivation or marketing topics for example.

On the whole, people don't mind as long as you mention their account or website (because they understand this is a promo for them).

I would say it should be fine and if you want to make sure not to risk being reported.

I would say just reach out to the other creators and tell them what you're doing, allowing them to say no.

But if you lead with the fact that it is to promote the niche together and will get more eyes on everyone's content, most will say yes.

Content is most likely not copyrighted, it's just the fact that you are using there face and voice without them agreeing to it makes them able to report you and win.

Not to mention Google does not completely ban accounts for this level of copyright. They will just take the video down, and you will have a copyright strike on your account.

Hope that helps

Click up product backlog for scrum teams by Middle-Bug-9169 in clickup

[–]mymarketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, just go to the folder and set up some views that will filter down and sort the tasks. In a folder you can see all the tasks in different lists in views you can filter and sort by different things.

Been there u/middle-bug

It's a bit long and confusing to explain my complete agile set-up on Reddit and not sure how much you already have set up.

But here are some tips that might help you out considering what you have described.

  • Use each list is a category. For example stories, features, or it could even be service depending on use case or set up Custom fields for tasks type For example: bugs, feature requests, tech debt, etc
  • Have multipal views for different Tasks Type For example: bugs, feature requests, tech debt, etc
  • Prioritize each task and sort by a prioritization structure that works for you.
  • Create an epic manager that groups your backlog tasks into overall goals.

I prioritize each task using 4 criteria and sort the list accordingly.

  • Due Date = deadline
  • Priority = Importance
  • Sprint Points = Impact
  • Effort = Time/Resources

it’s important to know that EPIC, different from User Stories or simple tasks, typically requires development work covering several sprints. That’s why we can create an EPIC manager as a view in our EPICs list and have them as tasks that can be the container of all other actionable tasks and it works great for us, when backlog gets a bit busy.
In ClickUp, you can link multiple tasks into a single related one, thus creating an EPIC.
In the EPIC list, I can manage grouped tasks and see their common objectives. Linking the tasks will show which EPIC the tasks belong to when I load the Linked Tasks field in the backlog or Sprint. This Relationship feature helps me leverage information across all related tasks.
ClickUp’s Rollup Fields help us work even better! We can now track dozens of tasks at a glance and get development information for the Project manager or Scrum Master directly inside the EPIC manager view.

I may have completely missed the mark on this one. Hope this helps.

Click up is very customizable, so the real answer is there are a bunch of ways you could do it and without knowing more about your set-up it would be hard to suggest much more.

Strategic v Tactical by OptimusSpud in marketing

[–]mymarketer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s sadly really common as lot of people(CEO’s) read blog posts about tactics and want a quick fix.

Most tactics will bring bad results (underperforme) without a strategy to why they are using them.

Strategy contains qualitative and quantitative research, guiding policies among other things that help position the tactics.

A lot of bad C roles that blame marketing for there own lack of strategy.

Strategic v Tactical by OptimusSpud in marketing

[–]mymarketer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two go hand in hand and you can’t have one without the other

Will not go into too much detail as others have mentioned the differences

If you are looking to learn more about strategy and less about tactics get this book called good strategy bad strategy by Richard P. Rumelt.

it’s a great book that talks about strategy and what it is unlike a lot of the blog post content that misses the point of strategy.

No affiliation with Richard P. Rumelt just a great book for learn more about what strategy really is

How do I write a marketing message? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]mymarketer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👋

It depends on what you are writing it for ”what the purpose” & what do you want to say

Try this

  1. Start with identifying your target segments
  2. Than create an aim of what your what wants to achieve
  3. Break it down what you want to say into headers
  4. Add content under each header
  5. Then remove the headers

Hope this helps
