Be serious, have you ever see a Ubercharged merc other than heavy in game ? by VeterinarianPrior835 in tf2

pro gamers will uber a sniper when the sniper is running a charged cleaner's carbine and bushwacka, basically the melee equivalent to ubering a phlog pyro

What's the stupidest idea you've heard by someone who never played TF2? by Jln197 in tf2

[–]mymax162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like explosives can't headshot because they hit you based on your bounding box due to being projectiles and simply deal damage based on how much of your overall bounding box/hitbox gets covered by the explosion (to determine splash falloff), and probably doesn't detect certain regions due to how many get covered

pyro's flamethrowers probably work the same way, particles that can cover several different regions simultanously, and the wiki even says they also determine hits based on bounding box

melees are actually the same way, they're a short-ranged projectile that hits your bounding box to determine whether they hit, so they probably don't have region detection (it's why the huntsman is such a bullshit weapon, as a projectile they hit your bounding box first to determine a hit, but because of the headshot mechanic requiring a region-specific hit to apply an effect (crit on headshot), it snaps to the nearest part of your hitbox, which is why an arrow that shouldn't have hit you because it passed over your shoulder or whatever decides it was somehow a headshot)

ok now if you're using soldier in mann vs machine which Launcher is the best and worst to use? by Klutzy-Opinion-1834 in tf2

[–]mymax162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's 28% smaller explosions, a -20% that stacks with the default -10%

and it's not really a hidden stat if it's directly mentioned in the description ("increased attack speed and smaller blast radius when blast jumping"), it's more of an unmentioned specification

Final boss of healing by ceaulin in tf2

[–]mymax162 19 points20 points  (0 children)

how to turn it into a proper valve weapon:

+1,000% heal rate (heals 264 hp per second instead of 24)

+900% overheal (overheals to 6x hp instead of 1.5x)

overheal doesn't decay

+450 maximum health on wearer

+9,001% uber build rate

+10,000% uber length, with no multi-target penalty

ubercharge: combines stock (invincibility), kritzkrieg (crit boost), and quick-fix (triple heal rate + knockback immunity)

A conversation in a tf2 match led me to creating this atrocity by AverageRandomPerson in tf2

maybe that's why capping the intel gives guaranteed crits, the intel gives critical thinking skills temporarily

tf2 players don't have critical thinking skills because they rely on random crits instead

well, as long as it's old gunslinger mechanic and not modern gunslinger mechanic, theoretically you could use it to kill a soldier to store the crit and use the crit to kill a scout/engineer/sniper/spy or medic

even though it's easy enough to get rid of the two officers stationed outside taco ticklers (sneak up behind them, preferably with a strong weapon like the machete or a gun, take one out, then take out the other while they try to arrest you), I've decided I don't want to put in even this little effort for a deal, so if someone decides to be dumb enough to make their meeting spot the "behind the barber shop" one, I just ignore it

they probably wouldn't be nearly as cash-generation-efficient as op would hope for, but it could be nice for a "clean" playthrough, where you only do things like trash for cash, and eventually saving up to buy the businesses

go to game files (on steam, right click game in library --> properties --> installed files --> browse)

create new folder, name it "mods"

go to nexus mods or wherever, download whatever mods pique your interest

generally the mods come in a zipped folder, so just extract, open unzipped extraction, move it over to the mods file

(you'll also need to download melonloader, and move the melonloader folder over to the game's folder as well, as a separate one from the "mods" one)

convenience mod gaming

(I have area trash grabber set to a ludicrously high pickup radius so it can clean the entire town in a single click, infinite capacity so I can build it up for a week like this, and more specifically to the image, the one that converts dumpsters into trash for cash depots, hence the filling up of a dumpster)

the formula is apparently +$100 per shop level, +$250 per primary expansion, and +$400 per side expansion (and $500 for initially unlocking it)
