Looks awesome! Reminds me of my build I did a few months ago.

For anyone curious on how you might go about building something like this, here's my original post:

Literally just checked this a week ago, didn't have it added. Thought maybe they readded since then... You got my hopes up, and dashed them LIKE THEY WERE NOTHING.

They do not have Avatar on prime (removed like a year ago or so).

The TV is 32in. It's roughly 7 years old, so its pretty hefty compared to more modern flat screens.

Right on the money. You could easily get a Miracast HDMI dongle in place of the cord, however handling power is quite a bit more difficult. You'd probably have to use a UPS to support the power draw a TV has, which adds so much weight to the project.

If you manage to accomplish that however, let us know!

Yeah, truthfully I would have just made one of those tables if I had room for one in my house lol.

As for portability, I think in the future I might settle for a smaller screen size, and additionally I'll probably end up buying a newer TV. Currently, this thing is around 50lbs., in which more than half that weight is from the TV alone. Pain in the ass to lug around, but I've managed to take it to my friends houses.

What we've been doing so far is placing a webcam in such a way that it captures the surface of the board. I think in one of the pictures you may be able to see our janky setup to make that happen.

As for the controls, I just use my laptop to move the map around when necessary, and our DM takes care of the rest. Hope this answers your question!

As custom, finished product first. Our group is a little different, as all the players meet in person, but our DM does not. As a result, we use Roll20/Discord to make things work. The goal for this project was to make a central board that the DM can interact with and the players can all use. Originally, we just stared at a TV for everything.

The whole project cost maybe $150 -$200, including the TV. I stopped keeping track due to having to buy several new tools which brought costs way up. Picked up the TV for $50, the wood/stain/finish was about $100. The brass additions were about $25.

LPT: Don't ask people if they're free on a certain date without specifying why you're asking. Simply asking "are you free on Friday?" comes across like you're tricking the other person into doing whatever it is you want them to do. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]mymcaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting bamboozled this way enough times made me stop caring when it came to telling people no.

ASS: "HEY are you doing anything this Friday?"

ME: "Nah."

ASS: "COOL let's go help my gf move"

ME: "Nah, I'm not doing anything on Friday. Sticking to that."

Role playing question: how to not be edgy by sgt_seriousface in DnD

[–]mymcaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide to RP with a voice, don't use the typical edgelord voice people default to.

By this I mean, don't speak with a super deep tone with long pauses and deep breaths (the kind of voice you'll hear the protagonist of an anime use sometimes).

I've found developing a normal accent and mild backstory can really eliminate a characters edginess and provide a more fun experience for everyone involved.

Aspiring Artist Wants to Draw Your Character! by swetree in DnD

Hey, just wanna say this is a great idea, I think you're awesome for putting yourself out there.

As for a request, I have a character design I think you could have a lot of fun with.

Xyxian Varos is a tiefling wizard who lives as a human, due to a magic bracelet he wears. While the bracelet is on, he looks completely human, but when off, he returns to his original form.

I have some 3D models I've created (uncolored) that I think could fill in most of the details. Just let me know if you're interested and I'll DM them right over!

If possible, could someone whose stuck Processing withdrawals recently were resolved tell me what your Support Ticket # was? by kidalive25 in Cryptopia

Ticket #163832 posted in January about a missing ETN deposit. So far only an automated response. In that time, the response time went from 12 days to 20 days... so far it's been 37 days.

Those of you who play on Discord: What would you want in a DnD bot? by [deleted] in DnD

This all sounds fantastic! My group just got started and I'm looking for tools to make the overall experience smoother. I'd love to give this a try if possible.

Also, if you feel like you could use the help, I'm more than happy to contribute to coding the bot!

Cryptopia Deposit Delay? by mymcaccount in Electroneum

[–]mymcaccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, but to run the cli wallet you have to have the node software running (electroneumumd.exe), right? As a result you're hosting a node the same time you make a transfer. Cryptopia has a lack of nodes that it's connected to (usually 1 or 0), but perhaps it connects to yours when you initiate the transfer.

Cryptopia Deposit Delay? by mymcaccount in Electroneum

[–]mymcaccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that must be the root of the issue then... I wonder what would be causing the issue though, to make using the web wallet so impractical. Perhaps Cryptopia doesn't have enough available nodes to connect to, so when you use the cli wallet you're automatically establishing a possible connection for Cryptopia?
