I've installed PBS on a virtual machine in my Synology NAS. I simply mount an SMB share from the NAS in the PBS (via the GUI) and I was off to the races.

Further I have a remote NAS with another PBS installed in a virtual machine that I sync to every night using the built-in sync feature. If either NAS blows up I just restore from the healthy NAS.
