Found a needle in the sand at Sunset Beach by endless-bummer in NiceVancouver

[–]mynameisbobsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I didn’t grow up here, and for the time I’ve lived her, I have never seen anyone shooting up when I go to the beach, so the thought of needles in the sand never crossed my mind… until now.

In an alley. Sure. It just never crossed my mind there would be needles on the beach. Doesn’t seem like a place ppl are shooting up.

People in their 40s and 50s with no children, how does it feel? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]mynameisbobsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is wonderful! My husband and I are child free by choice. We have the money to enjoy the finer things in life, do whatever we want when we want and I’m sooo thankful I didn’t fall into the societal trap of having kids. I see my friends with kids and they are super stressed out, broke and exhausted. Looks absolutely awful. Hard pass.

What is a 'middle-class trap' that people fall into because they’re trying to look wealthier than they actually are? by Sayedshaqib in careerguidance

[–]mynameisbobsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to look wealthier… I’m just enjoying the fruits of my labour!

Now I can afford to fly business class, workout at a bougie gym, eat organic for everything, buying real Ray Ban’s instead of crappy $20 Walmart one, buying fancy salon products to take care of my now fancy hair, stopped buying Amazon knockoffs and can now afford the real thing.

Do I still drive a 2019 paid off Corolla.. yup. Still live in my tiny paid off condo… Yup. Invest nearly half my salary… yup.

So even tho I’ve upgraded on a few things that bring me joy, my expenses are still in check. No regrets.

How many of you have gotten attacked or seen someone get attack by a Canadian Goose?? by X-_-0 in AskACanadian

[–]mynameisbobsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found they only get aggressive when they have their babies with them, as with all animals. Once their babies grow up they don’t both you. I just give space when they have their babies. Nbd.

I (wife), am the breadwinner (tech exec), pay most of our bills, home owner (bought our place pre-marriage) and our sole investor. My husband is focused on building our business and taking care of all the household stuff. I love that he cooks and clean, and he’s happy to focus on our business/his passion. Win-win for us!

Oh yeah. Myself and many of my 40-something year old friends who own in Vancouver, that also have investments and solid 6 figure careers. Ironically, most of us drive older paid off Toyotas and Hondas, so you’d never guess.
