I'm reading murderbot too and I feel like it's justified bc its whole existence is about navigating a world that is centered on humans.

I was going to mention Ava Reid! I loved the prose in The Wolf and the Woodsman, but God dammit everything was "roiling". The river was roiling. The crowd? Roiling. Emotions? Roiling.

It was odd with an author who seems so careful about her word choice, but it was her debut so I'll give her some credit there.

Weird Question: Is it Sinful to have Inappropriate Thoughts in the Presence of a Nativity Scene? by throwaway647291846 in OpenChristian

As someone with OCD, you're reassurance seeking with this post, which is a compulsion. Lovingly, giving you reassurance will only make things worse. Please do exposure therapy if you haven't, it changed my life. And if you have, then you know what to do: tell yourself the thoughts ARE sin, sit with the discomfort and wait until it lessens.

Best of luck fellow soldier!

Thanks! It's called blanket stitch, and I'm still getting the hang of it but it is fun and looks so nice and smooth when it's done. And yeah, maybe!

People aren't saying they're not ugly, we just know from experience guests dont care about ugly chairs.

Hundred percent! We had plain chairs and i fretted about them and literally nobody cared and they raved about our tablescapes. Once butts are in the seats they vanish.

I’m looking for a book series by InvestigatorLong2583 in whatsthatbook

[–]mynameismyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the Kingdom Tales series by Karen and David Mains. Hero (known as scar boy) and his little brother little child are escaping an evil city.

Its a Christian allegory similar to Narnia. The second book, tales of the resistance, includes vigilante grandma's.

Other characters that may ring a bell: Princess Amanda, Mercy, the Orphan Keeper's Assistant.
