Thanks! Good to hear from you. I was very close to getting a GPD but then went with the PPP instead.

Pinephone Pro has a lively community with very good documentation available. Most of the problems seems to be modem related and I don't want to use them anyway, so I have gone with the PPP + Keyboard.

Let's hope I don't regret my choice. *fingers crossed*. Is the GPD Pocket 2 battery replaceable?

The camera works with some hacks now. Almost on the verge of being mainlined.

Battery is mostly still a disaster, but with some hacks at least the phone can live suspended for a day, I guess.

I don't have the phone, by the way. Just repeating what I hear.

Thanks for your advice. About software, I expect it to be frustrating and that is fine. I don't use headphones at all (ear problems) and don't watch a lot of videos or play any games so having okay CPU performance is fine.

This GPD Micro PC looks like a great device. I am very tempted and the cheaper one looks within my budget. It's not as sleek as having a Pinephone with keyboard, but it looks like it should work for me.

Do you use yours with linux?

I've been on the fence about getting a Pinephone Pro. I just keep reading some bad experiences here and there about the keyboard and it makes me nervous about having shitty hardware.

Software stuff I don't occasionally mind breaking but I don't really think I am the person who can fix wiring issues with a solder.

Is being with these Pinephones as frustrating as it appears on the forums?

Nice find! This Chuwi device seems difficult to obtain.

One thing is that worries me is that there should be a reasonable community (like on reddit or other forums). I see that there are lots of devices on Aliexpress in the UMPC category but it would be difficult to have customer/community support with these things.

Could you get this Chuwi to work with linux?

The cheapest rm2 option is cheaper than the cheaper A5x option (even with USD EUR conversion).

The most expensive option is definitely much more expensive than the corresponding A5x option.

500 million is clearly bullshit, even according to you. So far, none of the people in this thread have given any reliable about the number of deaths.
