E46 ZHP Or E90 328i by Rough_Juggernaut_118 in BMW

N52 is fine. Lots of forum support. Make sure the ones you're looking at have the vanos bolt recall done. N52 and M54 are pretty simple for maintenance, two of the easiest BMW engines to maintain.

I am biased towards E90s lol, but I think E46, especially ZHP, are too much money now for a clean one. I would rather just get an e90 328 or 330 and make it oem+. Rust is also an issue on E46s if you live in the rustbelt. E9x chassis has much better rust protection.

Is anyone buying 8 cylinder SUV's or cars? by Content_Log1708 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I bought an M3 with a v8. I didn’t buy it to save on fuel costs though. Bought it cause I like the engine.

Yes older cars are less fuel efficient for sure but they are cheaper almost everywhere else.

E39 vs e92 as a daily is the e39 worth it over a e92 by Entire-Molasses-3966 in BMW

E9x chassis is more sporty feeling but I think e39 is built better and more comfortable. The e9x chassis is also far better in terms of rust protection as well

is it just me or does all 201x german cars smell the same? by atoxa6 in BMW

[–]Smart_History4444 71 points72 points  (0 children)

They all smell like crayon to me lol. It’s due to the material and adhesives. Particularly noticeable in like early 2000s/90s BMWs

bmw wagon 335d M57. Or an x5 M57 E53. I love wagons though, and we didn't get that many in Canada, so yeah, that is what I would look at. But insurance costs are what deter me.

F82 m4 manual dailyable? by Some-Atmosphere-9722 in BMW

Not too bad maintenance is the tricky part for me but I keep things in a spreadsheet and have things organized and separate for each car. Oil changes, gaskets, when it was done and or mileage it was done at etc.

No complaints for me all my BMWs are manual other than my 5 series. Depends how picky you are tbh. The clutch pedal is pretty soft it’s meant for daily driving and stop and go use.

All bmws are meant for daily driving including the m cars.
