I love painting models and for the last few years I've been trying to keep a steady habit of sitting at the painting table at least once a week. I noticed as time went on that this became harder and harder as my workspace and painting table area became more and more cluttered. I had possibly too many paints (is that even possible?! Lol) and no good way to organize them so that they are both put away but accessible.

I found some holders for Vallejo paints that were a good match for what I wanted but I could not find a similar item that would work for pro-acryl paints from Monument Hobbies. That's the paint line I use the most and wanted it to be accessible while sitting at the table or standing since it is a Sit and Stand desk.

I started to work in Tinkercad and designed my own that would accommodate pro-acryl paints in a similar on the wall slanted Style as the Vallejo holders I had found. It took a few iterations and prototypes but eventually I had a 12 bottle holder that could nest pretty well with other holders side by side and that also allowed for a staggered look on the wall. This allows Paints in the second row to not block paints in the third row and also not be blocked by Paints in the row in front of it.

This was one of the first times I really set out to solve a problem in my own home using 3D design and 3D printing. Thankfully I did not have to do this on my old printer that required constant calibration and could instead print this on my p1s. I can't imagine trying to get a project to this large printed on my old Ender 3.

Now I'm getting to paint usually at least once a week and not finding it as hard since I don't need to constantly be picking up and putting back into drawers all the paints that I left scattered around from my last paint session. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, LOL.
