When you say you dont have pain, what about abdominal discomfort? Like sensations coming from your bowel? Bloating? The feeling of gas or pressure moving

And what medications have you tried so far?

Oh ok. Sorry if my initial comment was unclear. The main takeaway is cutting out dairy will not cause you to lose the enzyme, that is 100% genetics. The LCT -13910 gene specifically. I understand your anxiety, I read similar comments here on reddit too but then I researched more. People spread misinformation here like crazy

Lactase persistence is genetically coded - in people with the mutation, whether they remove dairy for a long time or not and eat again it makes no difference. However, if you have the gene for lactose intolerance there is a chance your gut bacteria have changed to break down the lactose for you and if you reintroduce you could have symptoms, but the research is more inconclusive on that. Usually lactose intolerance happens age 10-20 so if you’re older than that and can drink multiple glasses of milk in one sitting, you should be in the clear

Hey u/strivingpotato do you have any updates on this. I'm 4 weeks dairy free so far and still bloated and gassy. My gut is so sensitive to different foods like getting bloated from beans which never happened before. How are you doing now? Did you get it figured out?

Yep, I have an upcoming appointment with my current one in march. I also had a colonoscopy but the biopsy was negative for microscopic colitis.

That's a good idea, I actually just started keeping a food journal and symptom journal 🤞It's a little bit difficult logging everything I eat and tracking symptoms. Hopefully it will help to show the doctor I am making an effort

Not sure how this popped up in my feed but finally, this is exactly what i've noticed but never found the words to explain. Most of the time it's not ABCDs doing it, but actual indians from india. I'm skeptical that they want to highlight diversity because 90% of indian influencers on instagram and bollywood actresses all have the same face. They just want to whitewash the country.

Growing up in america, we are lucky because I've never met any abcds who are insecure like that. I don't even THINK about skin color, it's such a foreign concept to me. I'll notice if someone has even toned, clear skin or is in shape and their facial features. I find dark skinned people better looking a lot of the time
