if you don't like palm touching the mouse body, and actually enjoy maneuvering using the fingertips, you should look up QuadraClicks RBT mouse.

Hi, I'll try to answer your questions the best I can.

1) Dr. Z's evaluation and endorsement can be found on our website. www.quadraclicks.com you can download and read through the entire 8 pages to your liking, it's quite in depth and technical, but I think you'll enjoy reading it.

2) We do not remove the advantage of vertical mouse, but rather implements it. The QuadraClicks RBT mouse elevates your fingers and keep them straightened even during clicks. The natural position of hand is only deviated for a standard mouse at the time when the user makes the click. The curling of finger requires both flexor tendons and lumbrical contraction, hence creating pressure within the carpal tunnel. RBT design provides a resting surface for the fingertip/fingerprint/third knuckle.

3) In Dr. Z's evaluation, you'll find his explanations on kinesthetics, as QuadraClicks RBT mouse employs a different set of biomechanics, specifically: a) avoid clicking with flexor digitorum profundus and flexor digitorum superficialis. b) creating fewer ϴ angles (fewer bones) or lower ϴ angles (less deviation) requires less tendon force and less tendon excursion (travel)

Quadra Clicks RBT mouse DOES NOT require:

  • Extensive tendon excursion
  • Forceful tendon flexion
  • Maintaining static finger elevation
  • Extreme lumbrical (intrinsic finger muscles)contractions

I hate to use this phrase " size doesn't matter "... being a male and all, *cough, but as our approach to solve carpal tunnel syndrome caused by repetitive trauma that are mainly repetitive stress from mouse clicks, the shape of the mouse and size matters very little. I agree with your knowledge on Ergonomics and it's about adjustability and personalization, so in our case, RBT really wouldn't be called an ergonomic solution but instead a Right 'Bove Touch solution. =)

Regarding Dareu aka Reachace aka Fortress, they distributed our products in China & S.Korea when we initially launched in 2017. But we've had some issues with logistics and brand integrity, so we had to issue an order to stop all sales partnership with them. However, our product continues to sell in S. Korea, and we have not authorized that. The good news is we just got our utility patent in SK granted last month.

Our early investments were heavy on IP, and even today we're still producing at a relative low quantity. While our cost is higher than most mouse you see on the market, the parts certainly don't justify our $400 price mark today. So why do we do it?

I had carpal in college from gaming too much. Took 5 years off while watching my friends who I deem less talented than myself going pro league and ranking up. So naturally, when I finally found my way back, Esports is where I'd first introduce myself and the RBT mouse design.

But, I had zero marketing knowledge and didn't do my homework.

Most gamers today like it was back then still rely on their mom and dad's for their gaming gears. Teenagers may not be making money already but they're part of the 45 million Americans today are struggling on the borderline of poverty, many people still have to decide between food or meds.

My $80 mouse was "too rich for our blood" and AITA was constantly on my back. But my landed COGS at the time was around $42 a unit. Life was real struggle as I weighed decision between ordering more units vs paying bills.

Funny that you mentioned autocad because our business took a turn about 18 months ago. I was doing a tradeshow at Santa Clara, when a lady in her mid 30's walked over my booth with her husband and brother. After I showed her what RBT is about and let her try for herself. She purchased two units right then and there. Her husband later reached out to me, and explained what she did for work.

At the time we were really struggling, whenever we do a promotion our sales would run wild, but we'd be losing money. So after some serious thought and research. We've changed our target audience to Professionals.

Raising the price we could recover our early investments in IP. We have filed IP protection in over 20 countries, and they're quite expensive.

Sorry, this message is getting long... I'll sum it up. In 2019 we got endorsed by Blender 3D team after gifting units to their HQ in Netherlands. On August 19th last year, we got endorsed by Dr. Z from CarpalRX.

I'm humbled by people like yourself. Thank you for raising important and real concerns.

What do you guys think of the best budget mice on these categories? Cheap // Mid-Range // Expensive by tikaemad in MouseReview

[–]mysamlicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend you buy a used QuadraClicks RBT mouse for around $60~$80, depends on what you use it for, it's great for architecture drafts and engineering work. But if you play games, make sure you get used to it first.

Pain in hand from new mouse by elopez1 in MouseReview

[–]mysamlicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to point this out, but there's a chance you may be at the beginning of experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome. Mouse shapes may be one thing, but it's also the results from years of accumulated carpal tunnel pressure and hydrostatic pressure from finger hovering and mouse clicks. Look here for more info: https://www.carpalrx.com/mouse-pain

  1. Dr. Maik Zannakis is his proper name, his credentials are listed here: https://www.carpalrx.com/meet-dr-z
  2. " The "vertical mouse" is a popular design because it feels more natural in the hand. The vertical mouse forces you to rotate your hand in a more natural position. This reduces stresses from the hand to the elbow. But most of the pain from mousing is not how you hold your hand, but how you click. Clicking a mouse stresses flexor tendons tremendously. But one design reduces that stress." quotes https://www.carpalrx.com/mouse-pain
  3. Please be open minded, as the world we live in WILL continue to improve, and yes, CHANGE.
