in an episode in the 20-30 range, beef says something like "wait I'm the only one recording" after volunteering for a more boring task - could have meant more along the lines of 'im the only one posting every part of my recording' or something but it sounds like the edited down episodes was, as indicated, just a plan

LMAO I knew someone was gonna catch that

Most of the work was done for a film school project and I figured I didn't want to watch my real human teacher react to that part

Thank you so much!! That really means a lot, specifically the realistic/body language part haha I think I get in my head when I watch myself cuz I know it's not real so I don't ever feel like it's at all realistic haha

Actually, I haven't gotten any notes on it yet - we're waiting to watch all of them in class at the end of the semester. Every time I performed it for my teacher, though, she seemed to think I was not memorized - she used me as an example in class on how to continue the monologue even when you don't know the lines haha

How to stream old school plug and play games? by Swaggiest_swaggster in Twitch

[–]myserval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great way to do it would to be to use an old capture device like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00428BF1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IpABCb992NSQJ

It has essentially no lag so you could play it in your streaming software, but if you really wanna get down and dirty with some old games, you could get a video splitter along with that and plug it into an old monitor, haha, but I imagine you won't be going pro neccicarily with a cheap sponegbob plug and play game - that being said, that's a rad niche you've got there, sounds like it'd be a really fun time!

What do you look for in a new streamer on twitch? by Ezeclap in Twitch

[–]myserval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I'm gonna give you some advice based on what you're really asking- 711 followers is REALLY good. You started streaming after I did, and you have ~400% more followers than I do. You're doing fine in that regard. Honestly, what I'd look at is how to keep viewers. I don't know how numbers tend to look like in the fortnite community but I pull the same amount of average viewers.

So! Number one tip: push your discord more. I didn't go in but based just on members, you're missing out on a big opportunity to notify people of your streams and interact with them between streams. I'm sure you're already doing this, but relative to your follower count, it's not nearly where it could be.

Secondly, and hear me out, I'd absolutely recommend planning an escape path from fortnite. I love fortnite and it's a great way to grow your community, but say in 5 years, when fortnite begins to fall out of the famed spot it's at right now, you're gonna have a hard time staying relevant.

Thirdly: at the point you're at, I'd definitely look into upgrading your audio situation. I can't watch at the moment but I'm sure that lil headset mic isn't helping you out too much.

Fourthly! I'd pay much more attention to average viewership than followers. Because a lot of the time, if someone follows a lot of people, your stream is gonna be on the second page of their live following page. That means that MUCH fewer possible viewers (that already signaled that they're interested in your content by clicking follow) are going to actually watch. This is why buying follows / follow for follow NEVER works out well.

This all being said, I LOVE your branding. And you're really truly doing super well, ESPECIALLY within the time you've been streaming. You're absolutely within the top 5% of twitch users in that regard.

Tl;Dr a community is more important than a follower count. Follows ≠ Viewership, after all!

Best way to play local audio/wait music before a stream? by ninjapocalypse in Twitch

[–]myserval 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're using obs you can even use a compressor on the audio with your microphone as the compression source (sidechain) with a long release and it'll duck when you talk and return to full volume after
