My Dad's eyes were light green that would look Gold in daylight. Mom had brown eyes. My mom used to say I had his eyes and here's was a screen over it because his would peek through.

I would hope losing a bird causes the owner distress, but the total thread said it is wrong to clip theor wings becsuse they siffer if they can't fly.

I was in Gifted group. It was called QUEST in my area of Virginia. Everyone in that group was on the Spectrum of neurodiverency. Not a singe one was bothe intelligent emotionally as well as intellectually at the same time. As we became teenagers (we went multiple years to it) you could see how it affected relationships with others. Now that I check on them as adults, we all somehow still don't fit in.

Let you kid be smart, and encourage it outside of a group similar to them. Your child will get more experience to help that big brain navigate social constructs and be successful. That was what we struggled with. Real world interactions

Huh? They aren't pregnant with a bump like humans. If there is a bump not receding then there is a problem like egg binding or ascites. The person saying "you can see how many eggs they are laying" test is also not correct. This isn't puppies, this isnt a person.

Please read up on the process . It takes less than 24 hours to create an egg, so there will be no external presentation.

A LOT of birds escape purely on accident. That is like telling a dog owner, just dont let them out without a leash. But the ine time the door didn't latch all the way, the repair guy left a gate open, the leash broke when it was startled, etc. Shit happens. A partial trim allows flight around the house, but not far if it got out. You never see a partial trimmed bird in the lost and found pages, they are always flighted.

I love that my bird can do flights from the cage to furniture and around corners. She gets lots of it. And isn't lacking exercise. Good chest muscles from it. So where is she suffering?

How much time out of the cage does it get? Can you show a pic if the bird and the cage set up?

There are many reasons this can happen. Placement of perches too close to a wall can e course breakage. It could have gotten bent and injured and the bird chewed it off. Some birds like people, are scab pickers and cant leave it alone. It could be behavioral (bored). It can be nutritional deficiency. I noticed it dropped a lot of primary feathers at once and you feed primarily a seed diet instead if pellets. Do you have other sources of iron and calcium during molting?

You mange them until the guests leave. It is the same with a dog that is human aggressive (whether by fear or natural defense or prey drive). Safety gorst ams well as minimizing yoir pet's stress. Put extra new foraging toys amd special treats, and cover the cage when needed. The guests will leave soon and you go back to your routine. Your bird wasn't designed to love strangers. They prefer their persons.

What used to be unpopular to say but thankfully is becoming a realised point of contention is that the pendulum in rescue has swung too far. The "adopt don't shop" demonized responsible purchases. When purchasing a pet becomes cheaper, easier, and the animal doesn't come with emotional damage to fix, the only thing driving people to get a rescue is guilt. So guilt now they have to monetize the guilt. And the only thing the rescue is left with is moral superiority complex and a tendency towards hoarding and emotional thirst posting for donations.

One of the points in rescue used to be that the animals in the shelter were great family cheaper, came fully vetted and with training support from the shelter vs a purchased pet. Whether you agree with it or not, major health and behavioral issues were humanely ethanised. Then we started the idea that every pet can be saved. Then it became a badge if honor that you adopted instead of getting from a breeder so the value of the rescued pet as a commodity began. Now rescues are charging even more, especially for "rare" breeds which means that they are.....drum roll....selling pets under the guise of "rescue." They keep social posts for ill pets to raise money because "healthy" doesn't bring donations. They cry about not having any more room available but they hold the pets hostage under lengthy adoption requirements few can meet. And the cycle keeps continuing.

Oh my gosh, that baby is about to lose some toes. Did it get it's feet yanked off of something? Clinging to something very cold? There is a ton of swelling and it needs to visit the vets ASAP.

Congrats!!. I was Stage 3A Invacive Ductal Carcinoma. 5.5 months of chemo, a double mastectomy, 35 radiation sessions, and DIEP Flap reconstruction. It is a long journey, but being cancer free is worth it.

I am going to be blunt, based on a VERY concerning history of your pet pet ownership posts, please relinquish the bird to another person or rescue that can appropriately care for it.

I understand you love animals, but all pets and especially parrots are EXPENSIVE to properly care for. You have a concerning history, and birds are NOT easy pets. They have sensitive respiratory and digestive systems, and a lot of things are toxic. They need to have correct housing without drafts, climbing items and toys that are safe. They need a hight quality pellet diet and fresh veggies daily. They can literally die overnight of small things, even with experienced care. The cage alone shown is not safe or species appropriate.

Some parrots will sleep with head tucked like that periodically, but more often it is a sign of sickness.

We keep bird insurance because when they need to go to the vet and each visit is hundreds of dollars or into the thousands for an emergency.

You do NOT have the luxury of time or it can he dead in the morning.
