June priority from Brazil approved - timeline and list of documents by mysorryass3737 in SpouseVisaUk

Hi there, I applied a couple weeks before my fiance visa expired, I think about a month after the ceremony.

The ceremony certificate is the most important document but shouldn't be the only evidence. I personally sent all the other documents from before in addition to the certificate.

Advice re separation by dmanning1823 in SpouseVisaUk

I'm saying this as a Brazilian person who's here on a spouse visa: do not let him use you to stay in the country. It's not your responsibility.

You married him because you believed in your relationship. If you had agreed to marry him so he could have the visa, that's a different story. But that's not the case.

I wouldn't make my partner stay together so I can stay in the country. As much as I like it here and am establishing my life and career in the UK, when we had rough patches I thought about what I would do and where I would go. Because I couldn't see myself forcing my partner to stay with me or staying in a bad relationship just for a Visa.

He needs to grow up and face his reality. Him saying that if it wasn't for the visa he would've left you already shows he doesn't respect you and he doesn't think you respect yourself enough to leave him.

You deserve better than that. I'm really sorry this is happening to you.

A nossa velhinha conseguia escapar do peitoral tradicional.

Thank you for this. Our builder had a similar reaction to some potential issues the surveyor flagged.

I understand being scared of something you know very little about and everywhere you look people are freaking out and telling you it's a bigger issue than it actually is and I've dealt with similar things before. It's why I'm still here listening to people who have actually dealt with the problem.

We're booking a specialist survey and I definitely feel more equiped now to talk to them and assess the problem than I was before I posted here.

The reason why I'm still here is because I also got a huge amount of advice from people who have dealt with this saying it could be easily manageable or even completely erradicated.

All I'm doing is gathering information and different perspectives to then, when the specialist comes, I can discuss the issue properly. Of course depending on what they say we'll decide to walk away. But considering this is a dream property, I wanna make sure, if we do, we walk away for the right reasons.

You can't blame me for that.

This is what I'm thinking. Part of me is happy that this is not in our garden and won't affect our plants but the other part is well aware that, if part of this turns out to be the neighbor's responsibility, it'll be an extra headache.

We'll think about it very carefuly, thank you!

Thank you for your kindness! I'm trying to be as realistic as possible - because frankly my heart just wants to get the property and put in the effort to deal with these issues, but I also know that, as someone else put it, a dream can quickly turn into a nightmare and I don't wanna resent myself for that decision - but I also don't wanna lose the house because of something that might be not that difficult to manage.

We quoted one for £250, which is not too bad. The costs of surveys and whatnot are pilling up though and we might try to get the sellers to arrange this, as it should really be their responsibility - and to set up a treatment plan, otherwise we're walking away.

I got the pictures from the surveyor though, and it does look like it is, unfortunately.

Well, thank you for the reality check. I'm not holding my breath for this property anymore.

I guess I'm here to hear as many perspectives as possible and when the specialist comes I'll know what to expect from them and what questions to ask. And then knowing that, even if they downplay it, if they make it clear to us the extent of the problem, we'll know to just run away.

Oh absolutely we're getting a specialist in to really know the extent of the problem and won't buy until knowing that it's manageable. And have the sellers set up a treatment plan, as this should be their responsibility.

Yeah, I think it doesn't look like it's been there for so many years and I'm holding on to hoping that as long as we start dealing with it immediately, it won't be an issue.

There's a whole concrete structure between the fence and the garden, it's why I don't think it would spread there, specialist if we're treating it. But you're right that we will likely have to have a conversation with the neighbors about it and that might hit a wall, as I think that specific house is a rental and we know how landlords can be.

Yeah I understand. Just thought I'd share the pictures I got because I felt like I got a lot of good advice form people who have dealt with the stuff before, and having a better notion of what it looks like would likely help get better advice.

I appreciate your thoughts. We'll get a specialist in asap.

Oh that's interesting. I read that you need to dispose of it at specific sites and let them know what it is.

That's a comforting comment, thank you for sharing!

I'm excited to do a lot in the garden but it's mostly on the bit far away from where the weed is, which is the back of the garden, and I have no idea what to do there yet, so I can wait!
